Re: MSS52 S62 EWS Delete Issues

Yep. The system is actually pretty good from the standpoint of being able to EWS delete the ECU but keep the relatively robust key-security.

You would need to pull your EWS and then find...

Actually its not just that.

The full number is 2113 2200 2101 J424, which would indicate that it is a MSS54 non-HP tune, however the file is 64k which would be an MSS54HP tune.

Yep BDM way easier although you can't get the "Easy-MSS54-BDM" kit from Tap anymore since he stopped replying to anyone... So you're left to homebrew a BDM setup or try one of the eBay generic...

Ok I guess you aren’t super great w wiring diagrams and you must not have understood last post.

Yep. That means indeed the relay is powered correctly.

Re: Sync of mss54hp and ews on bench?

Makes sense. Because the GM is the K-bus Master... therefore if no GM bus-master then you need to provide pull-up supply.

When you had the IKE connected it should have been providing pass-through...

Re: no power at pin 23, crank no start, no power to DME

Yep. Look for ground on pin 23, not power while the ignition is on... Worthwhile lesson that the vast majority if not all-of DME triggers are 'ground switched' not power switched on any modern ECU....

Re: Who's done Valet tunes and what did you do?

OK yeah I looked at one or two of those and saw the stages thing...

So yeah you could just set stage 0 to what you want. I'd rather change some parameter to knock it into stage 1 or 2 or 3...

Yeah that's basically a limp-mode mechanism, right? Separate from the alpha MAF-failover tables? Any idea how to 'force' that? Looks like "SK" parameters are related to it but nothing jumps out...

Re: MSS52 / MSS54 / MSS54HP Binary Modification Tool

Two answers...

Ideally.... you always use some kind of a charger that:

1. has a 'programming' setting that puts the system voltage up in the 14-15 range and holds it there, and
2. supports...
