Have you tested to see how fast the data response is yet on the display? I know most OBD based gauge displays if used all update relatively slow.

Unfortunately doing so would remove the whole variable voltage speed ramp. The relay would take that signal and just be on or off. Most likely, always on.

Have you wired the SPAL to the Aux controller while still retaining the AUX fan? So the aux controller controls both fans or was that what you meant originally about splicing two wires.

I tested the Flex-a-lite 118 fan as per my previous links. Oddly enough it's rated at 2500cfm but I've had many electric fans before and at max speed holding it in free air didn't seem like 2500cfm...

I use an electric impact and just zap it on. I use electric impacts at work all the time so I know roughly how much to impact it t get it to spec. Otherwise you can get a pulley holder like this...

Personal preference but have you considered water injection? Even just spraying a very small amount of distilled water will make a difference
