A lower ramp angle means the diff will lock up quicker once a wheel slips. Stock is 45/45 meaning it locks up just as fast on accel/decel. A 30/90 is (I think) a 1.5 way diff. It wonít lock on decel....

Thereís a roller for each shifter fork. You have to orient the bevel so the roller catches the bevel and operates smoothly.

You can get it into 5-6...just takes a lot of force.

Iíve driven a Metric Mechanic ZF clutch diff in my 330 and then the M lock in my M3.

The ZF was much more responsive. Iíd say the difference is when you get on the throttle and youíre throttle...

I have the 4 clutch racing diffs kit. Still in progress...havenít had any time to finish it.

You need the Belleville springs but you can reuse the old ones. Racing diffs sells new stiffer springs...

Thatís about right. I rent the wheel bearing tool to R&R the bearing and hub. Youíll just need to find a good c-clip plier.

Still...it can be a painful DIY ordeal if itís been driven in snow...

Iíve never locked my rear spring perches...never had an issue. The spring is under load and doesnít rotate unlike the front spring.

600/700 springs which worked great on smooth tracks. Lots of understeer on bumpy surfaces.

400/700 is way better on bumpy stuff.

Flat ride has worked well for me.

Iíve used the sport pads which work if you have a BBK and brake cooling. Otherwise they suck. I would imagine the street pads add another level of suck.

Likely a total...the rear quarter damage is usually a lot to fix. Iím not aware of aftermarket M3 hoods, rear quarters or fenders being available. Thatís an easy $4k in just parts.

Iíd consider the Schroth quick fits as clip in shoulder belts. They seem to pass crash testing.

I guess I have to ask...why would anyone go to the trouble of designing a cage or mounting points...

Yeah, I had one of the rear jack pad lints bent. The v-brace bolts would be better to jack the car up.

As far as jack stand placement, the rear jack pads are fine.

I doubt that heat is killing the starter.

Itís probably an electrical issue - a bad ground or loose connection. Those will burn up solenoids quickly.

Thereís a check valve in one of the banjo bolts. Iíd replace that and see if that helps.

But the reservoir feeds the pump which then pumps into the expansion loop into the rack. Then it comes out...

Blaming the DME is a bit premature especially when the DME is a much rarer issue than say...ignition coils.

Typically coils go out one by one. I recommend changing all 6 when even 1 coil goes...

I think you can braze steel to aluminum but I'd recommend welding an aluminum bung vs brazing or gluing.

Need to clean the pan, heat the area with a torch, clean some more and then clean some...

Remove the timesert, tap it for pipe threads. Just stick a brass pipe plug in it with Teflon tape. Just do oil changes with a mityvac.

Itís probably better than draining. Iíve pulled the drain...

That pipe actually goes to the cylinder head.

Make sure the o-ring isnít flat spotted or rolled. It happens because you have to install that pipe at an angle.

Must lube the rubber.

I have an aftermarket gauge that went to 350 degrees.

I thought it would run cooler with 0w-40 but it didnít. Just as hot or hotter.

US Mobil 1 doesnít meet the BMW standard, I think for life. Something like it canít withstand BMWs oil change intervals.

I ran 0w-40 on track. Pressures werenít that different. It definitely...

The reason why you torque the wheels is to develop tension on the nut to prevent it from backing off. If you increase the size and strength of the fastener, you need to torque the lug nut to a higher...

I think most aftermarket recliners don't fold forward very far because of the thigh and side bolsters. You could get more access with a slider...but the main hoop is going to be a pain.

I don't think its a terrible idea but it takes some skill and experience to do that.

There's more clamping force with an M14 stud. I haven't seen a wheel hub from a new car with M14 studs...wonder...

Not trying to be a d*ck...but I think the R&P is a durable part that needs to be reusable to use as a core. If the R&P is chewed up, the only parts that can be re-used are the case, flanges, axle...
