I was jacking the car up via the jack pad with the floor jack...as I placed the jack stand under the car, the jack pad slipped of the floor jack, tilted over the jack stand on its side, and the car...

Well, I was fired up to change out the differential seal and had gotten a 14mm socket allen wrench that Bentley recommended...then came the sadness...one cannot use the 14mm socket allen wrench...

I would encourage you to get a laptop if you don't have one already, and the interface then put factory INPA or DIS software to diagnose your problems...accuracy guaranteed.

Thanks for responding...not sure what you're talking. The device comes with two USB ports...so one can connect directly to the diagnostic port just as one does with a laptop. Since my car is a 95M3...

Honestly, I would encourage you to set a laptop up with INPA and use that to diagnose or modify the car...it's the greatest tool for our cars.

You have two choices...DIS 57 or INPA 6.43...since you have a 99M3.
