I'm running the hard motorsport backing plates for 355mm rotors. I got them to work, but they're pretty shitty-- I certainly wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I'm 6 years and many intense (track) heat cycles in, zero flaking.

I believe how much it flakes is fairly dependent on how elastic it is, as exhaust pipes are constantly expanding/contracting.

The VAC side mounts are a bit... iffy, IMO. E.g. Paffy's failed in his crash.

Aftermarket (especially Sparco) sliders are garbage.

The OE e46 sliders have no play.

NHV, I believe.

But, in this case, it seems like a worthwhile trade off to go to the metal one. The NHV difference is slight, and the potential PITA of sticking with plastic is HIGH. I always...

I always use the OE gasket when available, RTV if I'm forced into it. So, I'd go paper.

There seems to be a wide range of when OE diffs started weeping from the factory, so I'm not sure I'd 100%...

They don't really leak, they weep. It's not really an issue, in any functional sense-- just annoying to see.

Personally, I like the under driving the pump and decreasing the output pressure...

That chase bay kit looks like it was designed to address the s65's power steering leak, and then they just said "let's make an e46 version, because the work is already done".

It doesn't address...

Drove the wagon 480 miles on Friday to/from the IMSA race at Watkins Glen. It was great, every mile. Car feels great at high speed, both highway and the hilly back roads surrounding the Glen.
