Avin Avant 3 Wait and Other Options

Just would like to see who is in the same boat that I've been for the past year. More than a year ago I ordered an Avant 2 from their site but got a message from Tommy saying they were no longer selling that model and that I'd be put on wait for an Avant 3. After many delays the next ETA is March. I have been pretty patient at this point because I don't know of many good options that have similar functionality and a nice OEM look.

So is anyone here also on the wait list? Any other products people can recommend? Last time I talked to Tommy he pointed me to his other new product --> https://avinusa.com/bmw-e46-9inch-an...on-system.html has anyone tried it?

I'm in the exact same boat as you. I wanted the Avant-2 but they were sold out and now I'm waiting for the Avant-3. I was told March of 2017 by Tommy as well but who knows if that is solid. The only other unit I'd consider is the Dynavin N6, looks quality. The Eonon stuff doesn't do it for me.

Have an Avant2 but was eyeing that new one. I don't like that it has no knobs... and interestingly it looks like the screen itself sticks out of the dash like the new F cars? Not flush within the dash like the typical E46 units are.

Me four. I placed a deposit back in August.

I want something modern that also looks OE and clean. Avin Avant 2 is close but not close enough for my liking with regards to OE look. Hopefully the 3 looks better.

I may be mistaken, but I thought that Avin just used one of the "standard" head-units out of China, with a custom ROM loaded on it. I didn't think that Avin did their own hardware design?

If that's correct then I doubt there'll be much difference aesthetics-wise between the 2 and the 3...

Happy to be proven wrong though!

No idea tbh. Someone needs to make a unit that looks OE. I can't stand the difference between the OE and aftermarket bottons and knobs.

I have the 2001 nav, so the whole situation is terrible.

Yeah absolutely agree - I'm an absolute perfectionist when it comes to putting aftermarket stuff into my car. It must as reliable or better in terms of functionality , and it must look and feel 100% OE, or I'm not interested - I don't understand the point in "like OE, but not quite" :screwy:

I would think the Dynavin N6 would be the best bet but wasn't that released in 2015? As hard as it may be, I would wait for updates from Avin and/or Dynavin before buying. There are those ersin, eonos or whatever units for half the cost but they seem to be half as good if you read their threads (e46fanatics ICE)...

Guys. I had the Avin Avant 2 and it was mostly garbage and the support sucked. Especially for the cost. None of the outstanding issues ever got fixed with the unit.

If you dont mind not having an exact oem look, the Eonon GA6150F is a really good unit. I think it's on sale for 299 right now shipped.

It's fast, integrates well with Canbus (so you dont need to hook up a reverse wire for camera or dimmer wire for lights like you do with the avin) and it just works well.

I was sorely dissapointed with the avant 2. For the price, it should have been flawless, it wasnt.
