EYEHAVEYOU - '06 Interlagos Blue / Imola Red ZCP 6MT

After the demise of my last M3, I started looking for a replacement toy. Initially I thought it was a good time to try something different before getting another E46, and considered everything from a CLK63 Black Series to a NA1 NSX but just never found the "right" car, as I was very particular about options/colors on everything I looked at. When I saw this ZCP pop up with just shy of 55k miles I couldn't resist it - the allure of this "perfect" spec (at least to me) M3 was too much. If I had the means back in 2006, there's a good chance I would've ordered a car this way. It was built in May of 2006, which makes it one of the last E46 M3 coupes to roll off the line. Here's the build info, which is pretty basic given it only has xenons and the competition package as options:

As the car was originally sold to someone in the US military stationed in Germany, and spent its first year there, it never came with a window sticker, which was a bit unfortunate as I like collecting them. As such, I had Stuttgart Studios make a "reproduction" of sorts, with all the options (or lack thereof) listed:

The PO was impressively OCD about maintenance, having just recently completed a valve adjustment and complete cooling system overhaul. I'll be doing some minor r&r on interior trim pieces, and possibly removing some of the mods, but not much else planned immediately.

The PO bought the car from EAG at just shy of 42k miles, they still had some nice shots up on their site so I'll steal those to start off:

Odd detail, but seems BMW changed the owners handbook leather case in 2006, when compared to the one I had in my 2005 MY

Lots of OEM parts and some extra tires in the sale, which is always nice

Lastly, a few pics from when the car was delivered to me. I used it Intercity Lines to ship the car, was entirely pleased with their services and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

This sticker must be why they can charge an extra $10k, right?

Will make another post once I get some proper pics of my own taken at a later date.

Sorry about your old car, but IB is much better color.

I may be a little biased though.

Thanks, I've always been a fan of IB as it looks so different depending on the lighting conditions. Being an M color, as opposed to something you could've ordered on a "regular" E46, is also a plus. That said, I think AW shows the lines of the car better than anything else - and looks most at home on the track! Mostly I'm just excited to have joined the slicktop club like you.

I've even had a 1:18 model of an IB E46 for some time (inspiration I suppose), now I just need to figure out how to paint the interior in Imola :shifty:

OCD levels of maintenance/detailing and enjoy it at the occasional track day - basically nothing near as exciting as your journals! I do have a new set of OEM CSL wheels that I bought for my old car that I might throw on, although the ZCP wheels on the car are nearly mint. Long term my "grail" mods would be BBS E88s, 4 corner BBK and an OEM CSL airbox, not much else I could imagine doing to the car.

The Kyosho models have been out of production for some time, they pop up on eBay every now and then. The ones with the CSL wheels like this typically go for around $300 now, which is pretty crazy.

I also just took a high-quality scan of a poster I've had for a while, thought I'd share with the forum. This advert is probably partially responsible for me having wanted IB for so long...

If you click the image, it should take you to my flickr where you can get a version in 4k+ resolution.

Some bonus Competition Package marketing literature/brochure as well:
