I currently have a SuperSprint race exhaust. very nice sounds and gets super mean above 5500 rpm. 50 state legal as well. just my two cents. good luck

Might not be the "best" but I work for a performance company and get mad discounts on certain brands we carry. I can pick up Megan Racing exhaust for the M3 for $429 and from the video clips I've heard it sounds pretty decent. I wish I knew what exhaust was on my old M3, it was aftermarket but I never looked hard to figure out what the brand was. My current M3 is stock, but just not sure I want to spend $3000+ on exhaust at the moment.

No Offense but that exhaust is garbage. I feel you on not wanting to spend a bunch of money so your best bet would be to find a quality used exhaust or do the OEM Exhaust Mod which really does sound great and retains stock look. And for power, it's very hard to squeeze more power out of the S65 engine. Even with Full exhaust and full bolt on mods you're only looking at around a realistic 30-40hp upgrade and thats with spending $4000+. So unless you're looking at a supercharger you're not gonna get much more HP with anything else.

Well said - OEM mod is the biggest bang for your buck!

Did u install this yourself? If so pretty easy? I'm getting close to adding this exhaust. Would like to install myself if I can find a lift to use.

It is such an easy install but yes, a lift or at least another pair of hands.

It bolts right up. 1/2 to an hour, done.

Our personal favorites are a full Supersprint, full Akrapovic, or stock XPipe with OEM Muffler Mod. Fortunately the S65B40 sounds so good that most exhaust systems sound pretty wonderful!

We get a ton of orders for the Remus Race Exhaust for the E9x M3. Here's some good videos and pictures:

Curious as to why you think it's garbage? Friend of mine picked a used one up for $250 and we threw it on a couple weeks ago. He loves it, the sound is great, and it has hardly any drone. Seems like a good value to me.

Ask yourselves, if money was no object, which exhaust? It could be the cheapest or most expensive exhaust. You just answered your own question.

Sound is a personal thing. What sounds good to you might be shit to another. If money (or the lack of) is be of all dictating all your purchases, buy a Yugo.

Satisfy your own personal taste.
