Which E36 M3 is lighter? Sedan or Coupe?

What is the curb weight of the M3 sedan and Coupe?

I would think coupe stock for stock. Esp. if the coupe doesn't have a moon roof.

Sedan is said to be stiffer.

Proof?

Curb weight for coupe and sedan i belive is 3175.

Mine weighed in @ 3140 with 1/2 tank and full interior and spare.

3175; They weigh the same. At least, close enough that the options on specific cars make the difference. Automatic is heavier than manual, etc. The cars are also the same length exactly, the sedan is just a little taller. The sedan is said to stiffer because it has actual B-pillars, and two more doors (acting as more bracing)

Some guy told me the sedan was but he couldnt confirm that. However BMW did race the sedan and not the coupe so maybe???

I think that was more because of racing rules, but I've heard from everyone the sedan is stiffer, because of the above reasons. Personally my dream E36 M3 would be a sedan; because of said stiffness, looks, and the fact there is no weight difference.

^ different suspension... are you sure about that one?

My original plans was to buy a coupe but not many were around. I am patient  but when I saw this paticular sedan I just fell i love! http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3007/...201ac6.jpg?v=0

I personally don't like the look of the E36 M3 sedan. I do, however, love the E90 M3 (sedan). :clueless:

No cancel that, edited my post. It was something I read on M Registry but mis-remembered. What it actually said was US M3s of all types had less aggressive OEM suspensions than Euro M3s of all types:roll:

Another ghey thing about NA cars. Whatever I love my car.

The first E36 M I saw/drove was a white on black sedan with LTWs... So the sedan is where my heart truly lies. I don't know about the E90, seeing both coupe and sedan in person I think I like the E92 more
