Do you have to modify an OEM GT Spoiler to fit?

Because a body shop did and they shaved down the bottom of my OEM gt spoiler base. I asked them why they did this and they said it wasn't fitting properly. I just wanted to get your feedback on the situation.

I certainly wouldn't think so, but it could have warped over time perhaps, or been damaged slightly?
Sounds odd.

Im looking to see if I have any pics of the spoiler when I received it. But it was only painted once and the base was flawless without the double sided tape and just had over spray from the original paint.

I bought it from the guy on BFC and most of the pics don't show.

I'd be livid Kevin. That doesn't make any sense! It is easy to attach and bend to the lid.

Mine came to me glued to the trunk (no fasteners at all). :/

:whs: Especially if they did that without your consent!

Maybe you have a sedan spoiler?

Doesn't matter.

Did they shave it down because it was too wide or because it wasn't siting flat?

I defiantly didnt give them a thumbs up to cut trim shape any in any way. I just requested it to be mounted. They sent me pictures of where they where going to drill the holes to mount and they had the spoiler in the pic and thats what I saw.

Not sure how this is going to turn out now but I sure hope its not a complete loss.

Well it's not like it's going to be garbage now. They didn't shave off enough for it to be unusable. I'd be pissed, but I'd also just tell them to paint it properly and not expect me to pay for it at that point.
