View Full Version : Mid-A Signature Badge?
Poindexter Mon, Sep-19-2005, 12:57:42 PM On another forum I frequent we have community badges - this is what we use for the S2000 Mid-Atlantic and NYC Communities:
http://poindexter.smugmug.com/photos/36637585-M.gif http://poindexter.smugmug.com/photos/36637582-M.gif<---the final versions of both badges had better animation.
We also use banners as well:

But I'm not sure these can be used on the board structure M3forum uses.
Banners aside, anyone want a Mid-A badge? If so, what kind of design would you want to see? I designed the two animated badges here, but I don't consider myself to be any kind of special Photoshop person, and I certainly stink with animations - so - is there someone who wants to help?
maditalian Mon, Sep-19-2005, 01:48:25 PM i guess we could use badges, but what would be the point since we already have the location where we from written under the avatar ?
Poindexter Mon, Sep-19-2005, 01:52:39 PM Just for fun. Now that we have a new, more localized, forum it could be a way to advertise it to people who don't look at the communities. Check out http://www.S2Ki.com to see how they are used there.
chrisho Mon, Sep-19-2005, 08:52:48 PM sounds like a cool idea alex. i'm no artist though :chair:
Bagher Tue, Sep-20-2005, 10:54:26 PM sounds cool but the midatlantic region doesnt have anything cool. I guess we could have a pic of d.c. or something...
Poindexter Thu, Sep-29-2005, 06:37:35 PM I was bored and threw these together:

Poindexter Thu, Sep-29-2005, 07:11:23 PM I guess I need to clean those up some more, but it gives an idea.
maditalian Thu, Sep-29-2005, 07:15:57 PM yeah that last one its pretty cool, i guess i can put it in my sig ... it still has room for a little more "neatness" but its pretty nice
yuanren Thu, Sep-29-2005, 07:16:13 PM i vote the second one
Poindexter Thu, Sep-29-2005, 07:25:12 PM I'll play with the lettering some more, then post up the final versions. You all can pick and choose which one you want to stick in your signatures.

I do take suggestions, and don't mind customizing if I have the time.
If you want to stick one of these in your signature:
1. Right Click the image
2. Copy the properties tag - will look something like this: http://poindexter.smugmug.com/photos/37995857-Ti.gif
3. Open up your Edit Signature option in your UserCP
4. Place the image url in your signature with [~img]......."the image url".....[~/img] and make sure you take the ~ out of the tag.
5. If you want it to link to the Mid-A forum, do this (remember to take the ~'s out):
[~url=http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/forumdisplay.php?f=74][~img]http://poindexter.smugmug.com/photos/37995857-Ti.gif[/url]
Black Sunshine Thu, Sep-29-2005, 08:49:29 PM Good idea. I prefer the grill with slats. Up with the Mid Atlantic!
Bagher Thu, Sep-29-2005, 10:16:12 PM thanks for your hard work
Turbologist Fri, Sep-30-2005, 02:23:51 AM I vote for #3 but I dunno about the Capitol bulding in there... Suggestion: something a bit more generic that would cater to all Mid-Atlantic members might be better choice... :nixweiss:
Poindexter Fri, Sep-30-2005, 10:47:22 AM Tell me a way to fit it into a little graphic, and I'll get to work.
Six Fri, Sep-30-2005, 06:21:52 PM Ill put on in my sig :)
Poindexter Tue, Oct-04-2005, 11:20:45 AM thanks for your hard work
I taught myself photoshop, so I get better by playing around with different projects - and I enjoy doing it.
Not a bad idea to use that as an avatar
