Anyone? BMW F1 Wed, Jun-08-2005, 05:36:25 AM Just a quick question, when the ring is open, from what I understand is that you have to pay entry and its only for 1 lap. Is this correct or can you drive around as much as you like for the one entry fee ? or do u have to pay for each lap. Also, do u guys have insurance for your M's when you take them on track? As to find a Co here in Oz that will insure you for track days is hard to find and when you do, its big $$$$$$$$. TIA Ada///M. Low Level Wed, Jun-08-2005, 12:51:51 PM You pay 15 Euro per lap. One lap is a big long lap, of course, but it's still a li'l pricey. You can get tickets for multiple laps, but generally, they don't save you anything, which is weird. I guess it just saves having to go up to the counter after every lap. You can also get a year-ticket, which is some insane amount, like 600 Euro or something (approx, I can't remember exactly) -- you'd have to go a LOT to get your money's worth -- as in, almost every weekend for a year. When you throw in the cost of that many tires, brakes, etc - it would only be worth it to the most hardcore drivers. GatorChomp Wed, Jun-08-2005, 07:19:58 PM Say if I was to visit Germany...do they have rentals at the track or somewhere nearby? :) ianeire Wed, Jun-08-2005, 09:40:52 PM Say if I was to visit Germany...do they have rentals at the track or somewhere nearby? :) yes but some are expensive. if your looking to rent from a run of the mill rental company get them to fax you a copy of the terms and conditions before you sign anything. Even though technically the ring is a public toll road some companies do stipulate that you wont be covered if you take the car there.... other companies will even refuse to rent you a car regardless of whether its stated in the contract or not if they know your going to use it on the ring. If your getting a car delivered from a rental company... dont get it delivered to a place near the ring.... or it might not arrive. Ill be there for the weekend of july 9th and 10th, its open both days all day. Looking at flying to cologne from ireland and renting a car. You pay a toll at the begining of every lap and then its balls out for the 12 miles or so all the way round, then you que up and pay again. good clean madness GatorChomp Wed, Jun-08-2005, 11:20:22 PM think this will have to be a stipulation with my wife before i agree on another trip to europe. :agree: |
