I think I saw a couple of other names on the forum. Will search for them.
Ramone Sat, May-21-2005, 05:55:09 PM Hi Pierre thanks for the info and hope you enjoy your new car
I got mine three monts ago and have been loving every moment of it. until i crashed it two days ago.... Hey just another excuse for me to mod
psantoni Sat, May-21-2005, 06:33:56 PM Sorry to hear that! Hope it was only minor damage to the car and none to you. How do you rate the BMW's garage here? Good service?
Ramone Sat, May-21-2005, 07:02:48 PM I'm sorry to say very bad service. The AGMC dealer here in dubai is notorious for one of the worst service for BMW. Some people prefer to take their cars to Abu Dhabi to get services. The dealership there is much better and mechanics are better as well. I personally take my car to Toni Edwards Garage. He is specialised in BMW's and is hands down the best garage in Dubai
Ramone Sat, May-21-2005, 07:07:37 PM Sorry to hear that! Hope it was only minor damage to the car and none to you.
I have to replace my hood, right fender and front bumper. I'm fine but the other car is totalled... :drive2:
The only good thing that came out of it is now I am going to completely redo my car since insurance will pay for aftermarket parts as long as they are the same price as OEM. bye bye to stock hood and bumper !! Say helo to GTR Carbon fiber hood and Hamann design front bumper :agree:

Yup that's the way to go...
BTW, I'm in Dubai almost monthly. Do I qualify for your list? ;)
psantoni Sun, May-22-2005, 02:48:24 PM Abady911: Welcome!
Tarek: thanks for the info on AGMC. I will look up Tony Edwards. Do they have catalogs of parts for you to choose from? I have to admit that I know nothing about how to get mod parts and what to get...

I ordered my parts from Quartermile but they are shutting down now. I am cancelling my order because they are also over priced. I get all my parts now from my dealer in the states. Very good prices and very good quality. Tell me what you are interested in and I can see if I can get you the info :peace:

On a brighter note I just got some pics of my Carbon Fiber GTR Hood that is about to be shipped from the states. I can't wait, it will be my first serious modification besides my exhaust

lucid Wed, May-25-2005, 12:49:10 PM Wow that hood is SICK! It's gonna look amazing!
Lucky for you insurance is picking up the tab too !
psantoni Wed, May-25-2005, 06:17:55 PM Wicked looking hood, my friend! Nicely done. But is Quarter Mile shutting down or just relocating? I saw a Quarter Mile sign a bit closer to interchange 4 in Al Quoz, not far from the Traffic Dpt.
I just got my M3 three hours ago! WOW! It was definitely worth the wait!!!!! It is to hard to keep it under 5500 rpm. This 2000 km run-in is going to be a torture. Can't wait to open up this baby!
See you guys on the road...

Quartermile has two showrooms. they shut down one and moved all the personal and stock to the other one. I went over there today. they insist they are not closing down. I think they are telling the truth

Salut Sébastien,
Sommes-nous les deux seuls français sur ce forum? Je n'ai vu personne d'autre pour l'instant, mais ça ne fait pas longtemps que je suis membre.
J'ai ma M3 depuis mercredi dernier!
psantoni Sat, May-28-2005, 06:17:18 AM 850 km the first weekend and I loved every one of them!
I hate this run-in though :banghead: It really feels like having only half the engine to play with.
1150 to go...
Sebony Sat, May-28-2005, 10:58:16 AM On doit être 5 à tout casser... Et encore, tu comptes pour moitié, tu ne vis pas en France! ;)
I was checking the jobs offer in Dubaï, seems to be a lot of interesting position..... Salut Sébastien,

Hang on... It really pays off :) ... whenever you get the urge remember that you paid a premium just to get a new car. :agree:
Look,, I beated every m3 I raced so far, and my car sounds much smoother than theirs... I honestly believe it had something to do with proper break in. (I know lots of people who are not even aware of such!)
Go easy and vary your engine speeds.. a good training for your engine would be easy downshifting ... its fun too :peace:

You are right. I had a chat with the head mechanic at BMW. He said the exact same things: these engines are very sensitive to the 2000 k run in. Pistons and cylinder walls need to be formed properly.
1600 km as of today. I should wrap it up this weekend
