I have recently bought a M3 E30 1987.
The car runs ok whilst on cold start when it starts to idle erraticly as it warms up.
Whilst driving the car there doesnt seem to be a smooth transition between on and off the throttle.
If there is any one out there who has encounted this problem or can help please mail me.

Sounds like a possible intake leak.
Check for any cracks in the hose leading from the AFM to the plenum, and also check to see if the hose in the front of the plenum is properly secured. HTH

Thanks for the info.
I have sorted the problem by bypassing the idle control valve.
I fitted a second hand one a while a go and thought there was another problem.
I have just set the idle on the stops
