View Full Version : E46M or E90M?
richboy Fri, Apr-29-2005, 01:19:09 AM hey guys i have a question i'm having that car itch on me right now and the last time i wrote on this forum i said that should i buy a G35 or wait for the E90M. By looking around in the forums i saw that it was the E90M wont come out till 2007. I just cant wait that long.. so i was jus wondering would you guys buy a 2005 M n later on like at 2011 trade it in for a E90M? Do you guys like how the M looks right now or you rather trade it in for the new M in 2007?
BMW F1 Fri, Apr-29-2005, 01:28:58 AM Well yes I mean that seems like a good option that u have BUT have you considered maybe looking at a MY03 or MY04 and trade in for a E90 in say 2008 - 2009 rather than in 2011. The thing will 2011 is you will no doubt have the same drama as the next 3 Series will be just about to hit the showroom floors within 1 - 2 years of that date at most. Get the E46 2nd hand NOW, not as much money and trade sooner.
Adam.
vivid Fri, Apr-29-2005, 01:34:08 AM If I remember right finances have something to play in your situation... I would say why not find a 2003 M3 with low mileage, and save some $$, not get the initial depreciation or sales tax and keep your name on the waitlist for the E90?

I second this.
richboy Fri, Apr-29-2005, 06:17:59 AM thanks for the replys...but i really like how the E46 looks like tho im kinda like a old school person. the new models that there making now days the cars are bigger. Everytime i c them making new cars they make it even looking worse. you know what i'm saying. what if the e90 dont comes out the way how i like it then im going to b like damn.

How come Money is a Problem for RICHboy ? :chair: :rofl2:
vivid Fri, Apr-29-2005, 08:01:48 AM Looking at the E90 Sedan I can picture a great looking coupe... I think the lines where designed for a coupe and then redesigned for a sedan, although good looking its slightly out of proportion... I have no doubt that the coupe will look really good...
but it sounds like your not sure about the M3 E90 for some reason.. if you have the new car itch now the current M3 is wicked, Audi has, finallys after year with the S4, caught up to the E46 M3 with the RS4, MB's C55 or CLK55... even a 911 (996 or 997) maybe go domestic with a vetted, or to Asia for a G35/Z350...
there are so many good car out there and each is has benefits and downsides... It all depends what your looking for but if you like the M3s you can't go wrong with the E46 M3... then you can wait and see if you like the E90 M3... As I drive by ;)
Edit: I normally keep my cars for 3-5 years if you follow this then you could get any car have it for three years see what the E90 M3 looks like the then get one in the second model year... no doubt there still will be no discount but neither will there be a really long wait...

2011....2007...come one...you're thinking that far ahead when so much can change..
if you even have to think about the G35...then dont get the M..its not for you...and if its your first car than definately do not get the M...
:torque: Mon, May-02-2005, 10:56:09 PM get what you love the most...........
i have the same problem, but in a different way. i love my M, and i love modding even more. BUT, i never got around to it (modding), and probably will never get to it.
So im thinking when i will have the time to get around to it, every modded m3 will look the same (kind of like now), and then would want the e90 m to do it on.
i cant even imagine what a modded e90 will look like........
anyone with the same problems? or am i too confused?
DaBean Tue, May-03-2005, 12:02:21 AM After driving the E90 330i today, I say, if you are up for waiting 2-3 years, then get the E90... you won't regret it.. especially if you like the new styling. However, if you don't like the new style, then hurry up and get an E46 now before they cut production.
If you can, get one now then trade it in!!

E90M3 Tue, May-03-2005, 04:54:09 PM I am 110% in the same situation as you. I currently drive an E46 325ci, and want an M3 NOW. However should I wait it out till the E90 arrives, or lease an E46 M3 for 3 years, so that when my lease is up, I can switch right into the E90... :nixweiss:

that is a dificult qu and depend on when the E90 M3 comes out... if its oct of 06 I'd say wait... but if it comes out in oct of 07 that becomes a dilema and other factors come in to play... Like how badly do you NEED a new car, lease or buy, and other things...
I'm not in need of a new car badly at all. In fact with my timeline Oct of 06 is ideal for me to get a new car, but I guess Icould hold off till 07 if need be...

Pretty hard to deicde huh but i think i made up my mind and im going to get a g35 n trade it in at 2008 or 2009 for a E90 M3
E90M3 Tue, May-03-2005, 09:53:19 PM Well I've been calling around some lease brokers and BMW dealerships that I have relations with and so far the dealers aren't giving me too much good news. I was hoping to get an '05 M3 sticker around $57K for somewhere in the low $700 per mo. range with up to 5K down. The best i got so far was $781 (tax and everything included) per mo. w/ 7K down. Not willing to put more than 5K down what so ever.
We'll see what happens.

Who said Oct. '06...? All I've heard is sedan obviously now, coupe 2006, and M3 2007 :nixweiss:
