So I am third on the waitlist for an M3 at one of the largest BMW dealers in the South East; I guess being third on the list means that I will get one in their first allocation... Now my problem; there are three things that happened at the dealership that I found unacceptable,
1. I have a friend who has a Z3 which had some warranty issues and I went with him to the dealer, the service rep was incredibly rude and offensive, so much so that I forced my friend (he's very mild mannered) to talk to the GM... Every thing looked good but when my friend went back to have the work done he said they were just as rude but this time the work got done...
2. A week before 3 Across America came to ATL I call my sales guy and asked if there were any "meet and ride" for the E90 he said no... Come on, how could he not know about it?
3. The Auto Show is here in Atl and I wanted to go so I called to ask for tickets (asked the same time I called about 3 Across America a week before the show) and was told that they don't have any and don’t give them away… I have always been given 50% off coupons for the show by several dealers that I was clients of.
This big dealer does not see clients just the bottom line. I was not too happy with the situation so I went a different dealer in Atl where I had service work done on my E36 M3 and got on their waitlist. I am number 6 on their list and I guess that means I would get my car in the second or third allocation…
So there in lies my dilemma. I’m pretty sure that I would rather wait a little longer and get my car from a dealer that will treat me well… But what to do with the other spot???
1. Go and speak to the GM and tell him why I don’t want to buy a car from him?
2. Should I keep the spot and try to sell it before I have to option it out (I’d feel kind of shady doing this being a car scalper)?
3. Or should I say “who cares about the dealer I get the car sooner”
Any ideas or thoughts?
