Ok.. supply on the Pioneer AVIC n1 is almost zero..... so im heading toward eclipse avn2454.. i know it's double din, but in my 04 m3, i am willing to customize the fit.

Now the MOST important factor is the NAV. It seems like Eclispe uses same program or LEXUS uses same program as the Eclipse. My dad's 04 Lexus LS430's NAV SUCKS! I mean this thing cannot even correctly find a location and gets u lost and tell you that u are "just near" your destination. It cannot even compare to thte new MB NAv unit.

So that's the deterring factor here... which NAV system is better.. Pioneer AVIC n1 or eclipse avn2454

Now, the less important factors are:
1) ease of use
2) cool features (avic have capability to upload personal JPEG as background.. i dont thin eclipse avn2454 dooes)
3) realiability
4) Pimp factor
5) Value... bang for the buck (at this point.. both units are same price.. cuz avic n1 is being overcharged now... discontinued)

so people.. help please

I have NON-HK... eventually thinking about MB Q components in the front and JL stealth box and one amp setup (5 channel?)... that's it. Simple but wieght saving.

PLEASE help me decide.

CUstom double din conversion will cost me 300 bucks wchi i dont think it's bad at all....

I've only heard good things about the Eclipse nav (but then again, I never thought that Lexus nav sucked).

Where can you get the double din conversion for $300???? I want to put in the Kenwood ddx7015 but was budgeting about $1000 for the install.

1. Ease of use: I'd say the Eclipse (but it has less features)
2. Features: Avic, by far...in addition to the pics, it has the ability to measure performance (i.e. acceleration, etc.)
3. Realiability: tie. I've heard of older eclipses being unreliable, but the new ones are supposedly rock solid. I've had a Pioneer P1R for 6+ years and it still runs perfectly.
4. Pimp factor: Avic...both in features and appearance
5. Value: Avic...more features...I'm sure you can find it for less that $2500 now (the going rate on the eclipse)

So, I guess the Avic wins...but I'd still choose the eclipse b/c of the stock look of the double din. If you really want the Avic you can wait for the new one to come out (avic-n2). It's going to have integrated traffic info:

Tough choice, I'm going with the kenwood system because of the double din and the fact that the colors match better with the stock interior (dumb reason, I know).

I've got the Kenwood P-NAV815 (combo of KNA-DV4100 DVD Navigation System w/ KVT-815DVD Head Unit) in my Yukon XL. It is single DIN.

The reason I'm posting here is that I saw someone question the Kenwood units in a previous thread (I think the question was on reliability of the screen sliding motor.)

Just wanted to let you know that I really like the Kenwood unit and if the motor has reliability issues, if Kenwood has a Double DIN unit that would eliminate that issue.

I mainly chose the Kenwood cause I wanted Navigation and I wanted a system that Dension would support with the ICE>Link (they don't support Eclipse which would have been my first choice)
