I just got a phone call from my custom installer and apparently he is having problems getting the license plate light to work. He says that apparently 2004 cars are different since in the past older models worked. I guess its the LEDs. Anyway, I bought the E39 lights think that was all I needed. Does anyone know which additional connectors I need.

swayze, you got PM.
regarding the lights. the 2004 uses a 3 pin plug. all u need are 2 of those wires in the plug. what i did, i took the other end of the plug from my oem trunk and cut the ends off. then i just tested the plate lights one at a time until they turn on. just make sure you have your parking lights on. i believe the 3rd wire was for the trunk release button.

That looks sweet! What can one expect to spend for parts and professional labor to do the CSL Boot Lid?
