Thanks George - as far as expected times...I'm hoping for high 11's/low 12's. But really, a high trap speed is more important to me than low E.T.'s are.

Msweet - My warranty will be non-existant after this mod...but that was the plan with this car anyway. Mod it about as much as possible. When someone sets out to do that to their car...they have to accept the fact that thier factory warranty will pretty much cease to exist.

Lee - My buddy Peter wants you to come down and drive his 6-MT at the track when it's done. It should be capable of 11's with the right driver.

Nice Scott. I DO recommend adding w/i. My car went down there and Karl did the s/w tuning for it. You need to get down there and have Omar take you out in his mcoupe.

You are in excellent hands. I still miss my turbo M3. They did an excellent job and their customer service is top-notch. Don't you have cams? I am very surprised that Karl did not tell you to rip out the cams. I do not think he likes aftermarket cams with f/i. Karl is a great guy .. funny chinese man with jamaican accent :rofl2:

Although, now your 1st/2nd gear might be useless except for smoking tires. 4.10 w/LTW flywheel + s/c = LOTS of wheel spin!!!

That's cool. I hope you can get over the 120 mph barrier, that would be awesome. It would also show that your car is making some serious power.

No way over 120 mph. I think he is looking at around 5-6 mph trap speed gain. I would surmise around 113-116 depending on the track, probably ATCO or MIR would yield the best numbers. He would need to run at least 10 lbs of boost to get that type of trap speed.

Divexxtreme
Wed, Jan-26-2005, 05:00:18 PM
Actually that's incorrect. I'm looking at around a 100HP increase to the rear wheels, which is about a 10 mph trap speed increase. That would put me in the 120 mph range.

FYI...Jaweb trapped 118.8 with 7.5 psi without using LC. Using LC, he would have trapped over 120.

I'll be slightly lighter than him with 4.10 gears versus his 3.62's. Our other mods are almost identical. But..he'll be making more boost (1 psi = about 15 more rwhp)...so it'll be close.

They told me they can work with UDP's, but I made the decison to return my Water Pump pulley back to stock just to be safe. Keeping the Steering Pump underdrove however, since I really like how the steering feel is right now.

IRT heat issues, I may go back to the stock fan. Still looking into that. This isn't because the electric fan doesn't work...it actually keeps my car cooler than the stock one did...but with the intercooler installed, it interferes with the flow of the electric fan simply due to where it's located.

Raja - I'm in Chesapeake.

Art - You never let on you had a big wiener before. I'm glad you finally told us.:D

Looks fine. BTW, I have finally figured out how to do a proper burnout. You were right, gotta drop the clutch over 6000 to keep from moving too much initially.

Yeah, it is awesome. I also lower the side view mirrors so I can watch for white smoke to know when to let off. It is a blast and the Toyos seem to be holding up well to the abuse.

Thats funny. I always have my mirrors so I can see the tires in the burnout box at the track.

Yeah, now if I could just master slipping the clutch. However, the box is not very sticky at the 1/8th mile track I go to here in SD. The fastest 1/8th mile times for M3s is like 8.7ish with mods. I have run an 8.8 and I was beating several other M3s that were there.

E-town is a super track and I am lucky its my home track for sure. I was at that track 2-3 times a week in the late 80s and early 90s. Even my poor m3 has had enough of that place.
