Thy are nice parts, I have Turner ones but the RE's are well made.

I have the EvoSports. My only caution would be to remove the alternator so as to assure getting the correct torque on the pulley mount. Many experiencing battery drain are getting this from the alt puley spinning.

The RE ones don't change the alt pulley. I am either going to go with the RE ones or Turner. Thanks for the responses guys.

I've got the RE ones and have no complaints. They were put on from day one, so I couldn't tell you if they did anything. But, my car did dyno 300.2 SAE rwhp on a Dynapack with them. (Superchips, GC Gizmo, and Eisenmann Meisterschaft Ti also).

have you given consideration to BHS pulleys?

hey stalker

curious to know why you ruled them out? I had them on my '02 but sold the car with them on. So know i have to do it again. :banghead:
IMO it is the best mod for the money. so why the RE over BHS or Evosport?

Well to be frank, Im not a big fan of Evosport, so thats why it ruled them out. I know two ppl personally that had Turner's and RE, so I went by their experience with them and RE has been making pullies for while now I think. I didn't really want the Alternator pulley either, so thats whey RE was attractive also.

Hey Stalker, where did you end up ordering them from? I'm also from Tor and have been contemplating whether I should get the RE's from Tunerworks in Calgary or pick it them up my self the next time I'm south of the border.

I have the RE pullies and the kit quality is great. I had no problem installing them myself and torquing to proper spec. Just take your time. The biggest problem I had was moving the fan and fan housing out of the way.... tight space, but it can be done. My only caution is to watch out for the radiator coolling fins and bending them. This would be true with any pullie kit. I bought my RE pulliles from MPerformance.com

Good luck,.... Mark

What kind of HP gains can be expected from changing out the stock pullies?

PEj,

I too have the RE ones, and would have gone for BHS's if I had known as joel actually designed his a little more lightweight than some of the others, but as for everyone else that has them, I cant complain.

That is what I thought. :agree: Thanks Rob.

Thanks Rob. Why BHS over RE, just because of the weight issue?

From what I understand, a pulley is a pulley. Someone here had two different kinds (BHS, Evosport) I believe he said they were exactly the same. Don't quote me on it, but I'm almost positive that's what I heard. But I would take a good look at the kelleners stuff as well as the BHS stuff.
Just my.02.

I think the big diff is some kits come with an Alternator pulley and some don't.

There you go, that's pretty much the only difference.

also, the rotational mass of the pulley plays an account into the overall efficiency of it as well...jsut as with rims. The lighter you make them, the easier they spin.

So who makes the best kit then???????????????

I know RE only gives you 2 pullies but doesn't BHS give you a third for the alternator which is the same size but lighter? I couldn't find it on joel website.

Don't forget that we're talking about aluminum here. The lighter you make it, the less material you have, the weaker the part. There comes a point when too light also means too weak. Remember that these parts are under a bit of stress. The tensioner puts a good deal of tension on the belt, and thus the pullies.

I have been running a pre-production (non-hardcoat) set and have had no problems. Since then, they have also lightened the pullies. Which means the new ones could free up more power. I'm happy with my numbers ......

if i remember correctly from my 02, the BHS kit is 2 pulleys as well.
i might just get the RE ones this time to compare and give feedback if nothing else.

Are yours black or the new silver colour?

neither..... my RE's have an anodized coating that gives them a light bronze/silver look.

They all offer similar gains. Go with the brand you like best.

Yup, some offer 3 pullies while others only 2.
