Kinda new here and just want to say this forum is great for a new M3 owner.
But I couldn't find this information is the search. I just finished the Porsche Driving Experience at Barber Motorsports (1 day). I would like to do the M driving school but I can't find out if they actually have a track like Barber or just avoidance type driving. Has anybody done both??

I basically want to drive the M3 on a race track like at the Porche experience. Any suggestions if not the M school

Thanks

Just to clarify, the school is in Spartanburg SC not NC at BMW's performance center track (both wet and dry).

Yeah and they take you on the Track also. 2 and half days for $3650, hotel, food, and transportation from the airport is all included. I called them last week about this.

I believe they also throw in a helmet, helmet bag, and M jacket - so no need to bring your own.

I called them today and they were not very informative. I think they concentrate more on street control versus track racing. Wonder if it is worth that kind of money

Yeah it's definitely geared more towards getting to know your car better, driving in different kinds of conditions but they do throw some track time also. A couple of guys I know went to the porsche school and they said it was all track time... they said it was worth... get this... $2200. I believe them because they go every 4 months.

If you don't mind driving other types of cars then there are plenty of schools that give you a lot more track oreinted experience. I know Bondurant uses the C5 and they even have a Z06 class plus the formula fords.

The Porsche school was awsome - lots of track time in new 911s. You even drive the 911 Carrerra S, Cayenne S, and Boxter S. Ours was $1700 for the one day program. I'm not sure the M school is worth almost 4 grand if it has less track time.

Thanks for the help guys
