Since my lip cracked from going down a steep driveway/street..I need a new lip...should I get this (it's like a cross between a Racing Dynamics and CSL look) or stick w/my old hamann style cf front lip that I had before? Or get the ACS front lip that everyone and their mothers have. Hartge? Too bad no Strassentech replicas yet....or should I just go all one color and go w/the MVR front lip? So many choices...I'm actually starting to like the Rieger bumper too

That is not a lip, that is a snowplow.

What lip did you have prior? dont you think this would be more vulnerable to scraping?

I had a CF Hamann style lip. I know this one may be more prone to scraping but I want to stay different. Right now, I have my mind set on Hartge, or the same old lip I had. ACS and Strassentech are good..but its either everyone has them or its too freakin expensive.

Yeah, ive been eyeing the Strassentech kit. *drool*

Good luck with the Hartge. i hope you can get a decent price for one of those.

what about that hamann under-spoiler thingee...?
i've seen a few cars with them on and think they look decent, and quite subtle (sp?)

i've also seen a few replicas on ebay, but nothing lately...

That lip is gaudy, just way too big.. stick with a Hartge, or Hamann type lip..

Less is more.

In my view, this particular mod is more about show than go, so it doesn't really appeal to me on a personal level; still, were I to go with a front lip, I think I would look for something a bit more conservative from one of the German tuners.

Leave it lip less. Now that is different these days. That'll be making a statement. The Front lip spoilers actually dont enhance the front of the M if any thing they greatly detract from the apperance of the vehicle. I agree with Army Chief, Less is definitely more. The only difference between Army Chief and myself is that I absolutely "HATE" those lip spoilers, every last one of them, and if I may add I would never consider one. If the front lips' a must for you, go for the gusto and get the Strassentech. Perhaps mold it in so it doesn't look like some damn ricers nightmare. The only thing missing from the "MSnow Plow" pictured above is some Lambo doors.

I'm sorry but I have to belong to the "hate it" crowd.. that's just too much, and it does look like a snowplow!! you should come out here and clear the roads for the rest of us drivers ;)

it's your car, not ours... as long as you like it...

IMO, that lip looks really bad. It's your car though, and if you like it, go for it.

Looks is subjective, although in my opinion I'd probaby change your GTR diffusor to a csl style diffusor to match the MVR Lip... Or just replace what you had.

My GTR diffusor has been off for some time now. I actually have a CF piece that resembles the ACS that's screwed on over the oem valence right now.

could you post a "further away" pic so we can see the whole thing. It might not look as big and bulky if we see the whole car. With the closeup shots it's hard to tell.

way to damn big IMO...holy that thing belongs on the front of a truck!

go more conservative if you absolutely need a lip!

Put that on a locomotive and you got yourself a cow-catcher.

not feeling that lip bro. i think all the other options you mentioned will be okay. personally I think the ACS lip (or replica) is the only that compliments that car. The MVR lips looks good as well and is a bit less "played out" than the ACS.

why hasn't anyone made a simple rubber/urethane lip that actually isn't too **** and is FUNCTIONAL too, like the E36 M3 lightweight one?

I find the selection out there is 1) too plasticky 2) too **** 3) too many bolts and buckles 4) CF = overpriced 5) not functional

Are you driving a train? Do you need something that big to push debris out of the way?

I say no.

I saw a lip on TiSi / it stated GTR Front Lip, I couldn't figure out who the manufacturer was. GTR Lip would also look s!ck.

I also dont think the unpainted CF hood helps either.. just too busy and too ricey.. you have a nice color for a car. shoot a photo that is farther away if you can.. the bottom line is if you like it then who cares..

quincy,

if you put this lip on your car.. i will disown u as a friend. all your fremont privelages will be revoked. seriously man.. what are u thinking? that is the most hideous thing i've ever seen. u can use that to scrape up snow as well as road kill..and you'll probably hurt your ankles everytime you walk around the front of your car. come on! i'd suggest to get the euro bumper with csl splitters, csl bumper or lastly the rieger csl bumper. but what ever u do.. dont get this.. if you do.. i wont help u at all with any installs.

too big of a lip. if you must go with a lip, go smaller.

No flames please but of all the forums members I've noticed quincy's taste in mods for his M is a little on the import scene side. I guess he's just being different then the rest of us.

Quincy,

Get the Rieger one if it is a must. It looks much better than the add a "lip" setups. As I stated before the add on lips are like a bad afterthought. I prefer the OEM M3 bumper or the OEM CSL bumper to all of the aftermarket stuff. The OEM bumpers are much cleaner in appearance. Most of the Aftermarket Aero parts are just entirely too bulky and serve no purpose other than detracting from the look of the M.

Is this good? I like to stay "unique" since there's so many m3s out there. Too bad the Rieger bumper isn't out yet.
