HI GUYS,
HERE"S A STRANGE ONE FOR YOU .
I RECENTLY BOUGHT A RED 1987 E30 M3/325I,
ITS A GENUINE E30 M3 BODY SHELL BUT WITH 325I ENGINE AND RUNNING GEAR AND ITS " RIGHT HAND DRIVE"....THE ORIGNAL OWNER OWNED IT FOR 12 YEARS SHE WAS A DOCTOR IN MAYO BUT I CANT TRACE HER SHE HAS MOVED FROM ADDRESS ON TAX BOOK , THE SECOND OWNER HAD IT FOR 5 YEARS AND HE SAYS THAT SHE TOLD HIM THAT SHE BOUGHT THE CAR AS IS AND THAT IT WAS SOME SORT OF PROMOTIONAL CAR THAT BMW WERE USING AT THE TIME....HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD PROMO CARS THAT BMW OR BMW AGENTS WERE TURNING OUT?
WOULD BE VERY INTERESTED IN FINDING OUT SOME HISTORY 0N :nixweiss: :nixweiss: THIS CAR IF ANY BODY CAN HELP................

Sounds correct Some of the E30 M3's had those engines, very rare> the e36 M3 also had a s14 motor for a bit for testing, more rare.

Hi Guys,

Here are photo's of my BMW. Still no closer to finding out why it's right hand drive with a 325 engine. :nixweiss:

Match the engine VIN number with the chassis VIN and see if they belong together. My guess is someone did a motor swap for some horrible reason.

I don't think BMW would sell a prototype car in the first place either.

Ya never know though I suppose...

Then I think you'd better find a Bimmer dealer, give them the VIN to check the spec of the car.
