The production week in your case will probably be 10-14 January. The car won't take an entire week to be completed; the date you are given simply gives you a range of time in which the chassis frame with your transponder will make its way through the plant. The setup there in Regensburg is pretty impressive, and the good news is that things there pretty much happen on time, every time. Chief natalia Mon, Jan-03-2005, 08:55:10 PM Most likely. Chief its about time... i ordered in late november... any idea on how long after that? this wait is killing me Army Chief Mon, Jan-03-2005, 09:40:05 PM I'm not really in a position to hazard a guess, since I took delivery a week after production here in Germany. I've heard 5-6 weeks is not unusual, since the car has to get to the port (1 week), make the transatlantic crossing (2 weeks), make it through the receiving end customs and condition checks (1 week), ship overland to to your dealer/prep center (1-2 weeks), and then head out to the lot to wait on you for an hour or two. Perhaps a bit less, but likely not more. Sorry I can't be more specific. I had a production date of 26/7/04, a shipment date of 4/8/04 to Charleston, following the steps you outlined. Mine arrived on site (OK) 29/8/04 and I picked up the following day. BMW F1 Wed, Jan-05-2005, 09:23:50 PM G'Day and Welcome to the Wonderful World of M. I would say the delay would have to also do with the Factory closing down over the holiday period. Most businesses around the World will be back into the yearly swing of things next Monday. Hope the wait wont kill you too much more but good to see your still hanging out for it..... All the best. Adam. PS Great posts Army Chief, well done. |
