View Full Version : What do you think of my custom TV?
Tiago Wed, Dec-22-2004, 10:01:42 AM It is connected to the OEM radio system. That means that it work with the wheel buttons. I have TV, DVD and a aux input for cameras, PS2... Later i will put a nav system.

EMAXX Wed, Dec-22-2004, 02:59:21 PM Looks very nice.
Isn't that a little low to really see while driving? I guess there really isn't a lot of places to put a screen in the M3 though...
qqbennyqq Wed, Dec-22-2004, 03:13:15 PM thats pimp as hell , if only the surroundins were carbon fiber, more pimp

You're not supposed to watch TV while driving.

No, in our Escalade, our touch screen in the radio and everything. In this case, it isn't, but if the navi if right in your view, it's a lot safer than having to look down and take your eyes off the road. Not really that big of a deal though.

Please keep your eyes on the road while driving. Let's keep the streets safe.

s4play Wed, Dec-22-2004, 05:35:17 PM Install has been done before but yours looks pretty clean...did u relocate your cigarette lighter?
Personally I think the screen is way too low to be at a comfortable viewing angle but if you want to keep the OEM radio, there really isn't any other choice.
thanks for posting,
rick
sy0296 Wed, Dec-22-2004, 07:12:23 PM good install! not feeling the trim though
Roguish Racing Thu, Dec-23-2004, 01:24:29 AM Clean looking install...great work!
Tiago Thu, Dec-23-2004, 09:16:02 AM thats sick!! how much did it cost for the labor??
$150 for the labor. It was made by a friend of mine. It isn't touch screen. I bought the monitor, tv stuff and dvd, all for $800. I have a friend that was selling this system and i didnīt refuse this business.

I have two cigarette lighter behind of the front arm rest, so i donīt need that one in the front.
Actually you can watch it pretty good. At the beginning i was thinking in the same, that it would be to low, but it ins't that low at all. And once i have SMG the rear passengers can watch it perfectly. And it has better image than OEM due to the lower solar reflection.
Edit: It has the same height than the OEM screen in the X5.
But i have it since the midle of this year. If it was know, i will put the Kenwood double din in the OEM radio place:

It is touch screen, and it works like a radio. That it is the reason why i wanted to keep with the OEM radio.
CELICA414 Sun, Jan-02-2005, 02:19:03 AM I like it, looks nice!

kyky Sat, Jan-15-2005, 04:35:47 PM I think the screen is a little low, but it's still pretty nice. Great job.
Ossapac44 Thu, Jan-20-2005, 09:16:05 PM its awesome but you should have put teh screen where the ac and radio are, and put the radio and ac where you have your screen - i am about ot put one in like that

Thanks, but if it were now i would buy the Kenwood double din for the place that you describe and the OEM AC buttons for the nav system. With this Kenwood you don't need the OEM radio because that screen already make this function.
