View Full Version : Glimpse of some new wheels...
Will Pwr Mon, Nov-15-2004, 01:25:20 AM With all my past talk about the Volks, I thought it would be time for me to step up to the plate and put them on myself as well. Here are some teaser pics.......My fronts are the 8.5"'s that are currently available and the rears, but I am testing out some new limited 9.5" rears. Now I know you are starting to wonder why I didnt get the 10.5" rears, well they are all gone.....I even had a set "put aside" from myself, but they sold before I gave them my go ahead.
Here are some pics for now

da3bous Mon, Nov-15-2004, 01:27:46 AM doooode nice rims.....you and Arthur are copying each other ahahah!!! except for the brakes!!!
ArtM3 Mon, Nov-15-2004, 01:32:10 AM Are those 2 piece? Very nice, they look very light. What size tires are you going to run. You've set a high standard to beat, the BBS LeMans.
kormaster Mon, Nov-15-2004, 01:33:13 AM nice rims will!!! :agree:
Will Pwr Mon, Nov-15-2004, 01:53:39 AM Thanks guys

Actually they are Forged Monoblock (1pc) aluminum wheels with a "diamond cut" polished lip. I think they weigh in at about 19-20lbs...where as my LMs weigh in at about 25lbs. I agree, the LMs set a high standard to be...and the Volks where the only one so far that made me step up and try a new set of wheels
BMW F1 Mon, Nov-15-2004, 06:24:31 AM Lookin great, but Im sure they look better on the M than in the box. Pwr to you Will.
capirest Mon, Nov-15-2004, 06:44:56 AM Not too shaby!!! Very nice Will..
Jeff@Fusion Mon, Nov-15-2004, 08:50:33 AM i thought the rear should be 10.5?
nice wheels by the way, im was thinking get those for the track, but i gave up,coz i have 1 heavy M3.....LOL
Simon@RENNSpec Mon, Nov-15-2004, 08:53:54 AM What's the rear offset on those 9.5?
PfCxM3 Mon, Nov-15-2004, 09:13:56 AM those look sick!! looks like everybody is replacing the LMs...:hmm: :hmm:
Sirius Mon, Nov-15-2004, 10:08:33 AM Nice choice, Will.
zam Mon, Nov-15-2004, 10:36:55 AM Nice, can we get a profile shot of the 9.5? Will it fit on the front?
acitydweller Mon, Nov-15-2004, 01:11:53 PM sweet looking rims.
khanyam3 Mon, Nov-15-2004, 01:14:30 PM Finally got them huh......looking real nice.
EMAXX Mon, Nov-15-2004, 01:21:23 PM OoooOO. Volks. Quite a few people here have Volks now. Can't wait to see them on the car.
FB Mon, Nov-15-2004, 02:44:50 PM What's the rear offset on those 9.5?
my thoughts exactly - i hope they set them agressive enough to come out close to the fender similar to the fronts...
You beat me to them Will - they are sweeeet!
These will clear Brembo's right?
M333ee Mon, Nov-15-2004, 03:13:47 PM Will,
I think I may have gotten the last set of 10.5's :peace:
Your current LM's are 25lbs :nixweiss: I thought they were in line with the Volks around 20lbs.....
I guess another plus in the volks camp
rcurley55 Mon, Nov-15-2004, 06:08:48 PM those look sick!! looks like everybody is replacing the LMs...:hmm: :hmm:
nahh, I still have mine and love 'em!!
the volks will be sweet....now get them on the damn car and post some pics!
Will Pwr Mon, Nov-15-2004, 07:04:20 PM Thanks everyone....Yeah, I finally got them...and I cant wait to get them out of the box and onto the car too....Im just waiting for my rear tires from Toyo....
Jeff/Simon - yeah the 10.5 "was" the only set up before and plus the 10.5's are all gone. So there are a few sets of these "limited" 9.5 rears with a +18mm offset.
ZAM- here are some side shots....these specific 9.5 will not work on the front since they are +18mm ...but I am working on them with possible 9.5 fronts in the future.
FB-They will clear the Brembos. These 9.5 are very agressive...after all the calculations with width differences and the offsets, I believe that overall they will be 1mm more agressive than my 10" LMs in the back (so it will be outward more about 1mm) I know I was worried about the 9.5's being "too far inward"
M333ee- hahha yeah I think you took "my" set of rear 10.5s! hahah all goods... im going on the forefront and hoping to get this 9.5s out on the market too!
Will Pwr Mon, Nov-15-2004, 07:05:04 PM one more....
FB Mon, Nov-15-2004, 07:35:24 PM thanks for the info Will... i'm glad they will work with the Brembo's and the offsets work aesthetically....
I've got soemone 'interested' in my current wheels, so hopefully after T-giving, I will be making my move also....
ziggy723 Mon, Nov-15-2004, 07:42:29 PM Looks good Will... glad to see you finally made up your mind.
M333ee Mon, Nov-15-2004, 07:55:51 PM Nice pics Will,
I wonder if you could put 285's at the back without rolling the rear fenders?????
M3_shin Mon, Nov-15-2004, 08:07:01 PM Arent there a few people running 285's on the rear on Volks w/o rubbing issues on this board?? So...Will...what is to become of your LM's??
Will Pwr Mon, Nov-15-2004, 09:20:38 PM FB- Ill hold you to that! hahahah JK
Thanks Sean!
M333ee- I assume that the 285's on my 9.5s would have more clearance (which might make it work without rolling the fenders) but I think the 285 would be too "meaty" looking for my tastes...plus going 285 really limits the tire choices....
M3 shin- hahah..havent decided what Im going to do with the LMs right now..what I do plan to do is hold on to them for a little while (since I dont have stocks) Another reason is that I have yet another set of wheels on order with Volk too..so I want something to fall back on too.. :peace:
InSaNe///M3 Mon, Nov-15-2004, 09:29:01 PM Those look sick! I like your current rims too, very clean
CHiPZ Mon, Nov-15-2004, 09:34:57 PM starting to like them rims, the more and more I see them. nice choose.

The light is really poor tonight, so the following pics are of sub-par quality for my normal pics..but heres some teasers until tomorrow.

sy0296 Wed, Dec-01-2004, 08:35:32 AM nice nice nice. put them on already :)
kchika Wed, Dec-01-2004, 10:59:57 AM I like em!
M333ee Wed, Dec-01-2004, 02:16:23 PM Looks   Will
I wonder if the rear 19x9.5's weigh even less than the 19x10.5's (I assume they do...)
This would be the perfect setup for peole that like to slam their cars. The 10.5's are iffy and I would for sure roll the rear fenders.
What is your rear height? 1 finger or are the tires tucked?
FB Wed, Dec-01-2004, 02:24:38 PM WOW - those look awesome Will!
the offset in the rear is perfect - man, i'm on the brink of sellin my current setup too!
ahhhh i can't wait!
BimmerBoy111 Wed, Dec-01-2004, 04:14:10 PM  Rims look amazing Will! Lovin' how the BBK looks behind them too. Nice choice
Hyolee Wed, Dec-01-2004, 04:25:30 PM are those 18's???
j/k
E46M3Rod Wed, Dec-01-2004, 04:29:21 PM Looks good
But I think the LM's look better :peace:
Will Pwr Wed, Dec-01-2004, 06:14:25 PM Thanks guys! I really like the look of them...not to say the LMs arent, but I was a bit tired of them =)
Also, I dont know if its just in my head or not, but I can feel the weight difference when driving :nixweiss:
gagu: hahah in due time
M333ee: Yeah, they are a bit lighter than the 10.5's. I forgot by how much tough. I weighed the 8.5 that we both share and it came in at 21lbs. My rear tire, Toyo T1S 275/30 19 weighed in at 27lbs ...go figure huh? My ride height is flush. No gap, but not quite tucking yet.
FB: Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised with the how the offset of the 9.5 in the rear turned out. Overall its 1mm outward over the LMs. Whenever you want a set, let me know...Ill send you in the right direction.
BimmerBoy: It really showoffs the BBK in the front...but now it forces me to get them in the rear now too :banghead:
Art: Damn you :smiley_ab
e46: Yeah, it was a hard choice for me....they both look good...but are a different type of look
Ninja K Wed, Dec-01-2004, 06:27:05 PM Aren't volks more for the serious riice-perts? ;)
Lovely indeed! Doesn't RaysWheels (Volk) also have a Forged Magnesium rim available? What's the difference?

Yeah, they do offer the TE (similar to the LE, but no diamond cut lip) in a Forged Mag version. Its even lighter and still durable, but not cheap!

Same ish happened to me. Volk didn't ship them like that. When the tire shop mounted my tires, rather than carefully take out the center caps they rammed the balancer thing in to pop the cap. This in turn damaged the sticker and the tire shop denied destroying 2 of my $30 center caps. :banghead:
zam Fri, Dec-03-2004, 06:11:45 PM Will, the car looks good. BTW, you need to get a web host. The m3forum is shrinking the piss out of your pics.
