Whats up guys, I took my car over to my mechanic around 3:00 today and walked out at around 8:30 (muffler + coilovers) - front doesnt lower much more then stock (half an inch), and its as low as it can go, however my mechanic feels that there is something missing (suspension was used, had 9k miles) on the front he said that it should have a bump stop or a piece to center the plate that goes over the spring.. there was none, I sent eMails to turner and a few tuning shops before getting it installed, and they told me it was OKAY and COMPLETE. So we did shock/spring/plate/shock hat - also, when i turn the wheel around 70-80% it makes a click sound.. not my power steering, just a click.. my mechanic said it would make this noise most likely prior to the installation, however I told him to proceed with the installation since shops such as turner, H&R and my local tuning shop assured me the kit was complete. Whats wrong here?

Sorry for the blurry pics!

Those don't even look close to the springs you normally see on H&R coilovers, so are those the right ones?
It also looks like the strut is missing the upper spring pad and spring pocket.

Are u shure these are the H&R's cuz they dunt look like them. Regarding the Clicking noise....it is very common on the H&R coilovers. Not shure why. :peace:

I Have The H&r Coilovers On My 2003 M3.the Springs Are Blue In Color!
The Springs You Have Look Like The H&r 2" Drop Springs! They Do Not Go With The Coilover Setup!

It also looks like you are missing the bump stops. I don't know about H&R but some require that you reuse the OEM bumpstops.

Eduardo:

Sorry for the delay. I wanted to be sure I was comfortable with a recommended shop prior to sending you.

What I've arrived at is longtime BMWCCA Club Racer and Instructor: Bob van Epps. Bob is willing to inspect and cornerweight your auto for $200 at his home on his own time. Be aware, the $200 SOLELY covers cornerweighting and inspection. Assuming NOTHING seems out of sorts, you will still have to get aligned (Bob has a recommended shop). Further, if anything is out of sorts, you and Bob will have to work out a cause of action and determine his willingness/ability to effect the repairs.

I highly respect Bob and ask that you treat him with the proper respect - he REALLY is doing this more as a favour than to make money. Moreover, with his experience and the fact that he has no skin in the game, you can be assured he will steer you right.

Please contact Bob at: 954.741.0990

Dan Law-
I don't know Eduardo or how he is fairing with troubleshooting his suspension, but I got to say that it was a very classy thing for you to step up and offer a little assistance and help point the guy in the right direction.

As an M3 driver, I want to thank you for supporting the community!

FYI, that clicking sound is not normal. I have the PSS9(similar setup to Ground Control) and had a small click/banging sound but from the rear. Once I went back there and swapped some of the rubber bushings around, it all went away. FYI, the my330.com directions were pretty good, but not 100% complete.

And I agree with Chief. Good work Mr Law.

I have the HR Coilovers... I also had that clicking noise... however I had the shop that installed my coilovers fix it that next day. Sure enough they forgot to insert the rubber cup kit, you'll have to use the stock cup kit...

i've got the clicking sound, but only when i go up an uneven driveway - it seems like the shock extends and makes the clicking sound as it stretches so to speak... other than that, my h&r's have been OK...
