Took delivery of my M3 convertable on Saturday 9th March. Discovered two issues:
1. Exhaust heat shield or baffle noise between 3,500 & 4,000rpm.
2. Knocking from gear box when changing gear.
Visiting dealer (First Front) UK for test drive today.
Has anyone resolved these problems?

Has been two weeks since the delivery of my E46 M3 w/SMG II and I am going to take it to the dealer for 1200 mile service tomorrow.
When i was driving tonight without the radio on, I noticed that the noise coming from the gearbox when I (actually the computer!) changed the gear, especially from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd, was more noticeable. I cannot describe how much more noticeable it was but it sounded like someone was hitting the gears with a hammer!
Also, noticed that the gear change could be pretty rough and sloppy from time to time, especially when I drive easy right after some hard-core driving (still below 5000 rpm). Is that because of the ' adaptive' drivelogic (the computer learns how I drive and adapts it to the 'program')?
Has any one ever noticed the above? Mm I simply paranoid?? Please advise.
