Frank: I e-mailed about this but it your mail box is full.

Hello all, after reading and seeing other parts around the U.S. organizing the M3 meet, and from talking to many of you on this forum who have shown interest in it.. I decide to "take one for the team" in an attempt to go through the troble of organizing a "meet" among the E46 M3ers around the North Eastern area:

Approximate date: around spring time; Weekend of April or May
Location: Lime Rocks speedway, CT (other susgestions is welcome)
Special treat: maybe the Meet tee-shirt w/ name, M3 clinic, group pic etc..

note: small entry fee (to pay for production) would come with the territory ofcouse..(Ishbu can't effort all of that alone)

I guess I am starting a sign up right here since I want to take an initiative in doing something rather than just a "talk" and I want to make it well organize (sport entertainment major here).. so sorry and please bare with me if you in other location since this is a no M3 question related.. but I just want to get the estimate number.. so i can plan things over winter (Styles, Jleach8, Chris P. and couple more of you who express intrest I have you guys on the list already..) anymore idea or interest let me know...

thanks guys,

raffaelli

Okay then.. thankyou I guess it's a lost cost.. since they already have one. But is it all BMW or they have the E46 M3 only as well? (no.. I'm not prejudice but I just don't want to ended up being one of the two-three E46 that's show up like what NY_Kid encountered in NJ....oh well:( but if anyone interest in a private meet with out paying about 5-6 different things for the membership (from what I saw) let me know...

That club does have all BMW's.

I was at Limerock late in October for a go kart race. There was a BMW club there running time trials. They signed up about 5am. Were on the track about 9 ish. There were many more cars then just BMW. There was a Ferrari, Viper, many Audi's, many Fiats, I think I remember several Mustangs. I think the BMW was the minority. There were a few M3's but the BMW crowd was mostly 318, 325, 330, a few 530's.

I am interested in an M3 focused club.

I would suggest that Limerock is contacted as soon as possible. I know they are filling up the dates, weekends go fast, then you have to work around Skip Barber.

Ishbu - sign me up. My M3 will not be in my possession at least till around late May 2003. If ever you decide on a meet @ Limerock, can my wife and I go without our baby?

I would put my email here but can't those spam generators find it if I do?

don't worry that was a good thinking.. once me and several of my comrats (Styles, Chris P. and other) finalized on what's going on then we'll inform you shorty via private message..

PS. Styles I know it's a pain.. and I feel the same but hey I think it wouldn't be a good idea to have the meet when it's a "-20 degree new england winter" weather.. but maybe if it's all work out then perhaps march or april might work too

thanks,

I'm interested...
Are you actually trying to get track time a Limerock?? I would think it would be difficult to get track time. Also, I am sure it would be expensive -- insurance reasons & track time, & flaggers, etc.... Anyway, let me know if you come up with anything. As of yet Limerock has not posted the 2003 club schedule.

I'm all for another meet. I don't think getting track time is realistic due to scheduling and insurance. But we could go there during a day when there is a track event scheduled. Meet up, talk, watch a race, etc. Love to see some older M3s out there...

The weather in that part of CT tends to stay colder than here in Central CT where I am. March is very hard to guess. We've had plenty of days in March with snowfall. April is better, but then you get more rain days. May is when it starts to get nice.

I would say wait until sometime in late January after Limerock has the schedule for the club events to set a date. Pick a date when one of the BMW clubs are running. This way you can either participate in the driving school, watch or chat with follow M3'ers.

I am collecting names right now and everything is still in the air.. I still have to talk it over with my "partner in crime" Styles, Rseitz about it. But rodneyr, that's a really good idea.. but I just wonder if the BMW club would let us do our own things...and I want it to be very well thought out and organise... it's M3 meet folks not a Toyota meet;) we have to live up to the reputation.

Hey Ishbu,

They released the CCA race date for 6/16-17 at Lime Rock (just posted a new thread on it). That would be a perfect time to gather. By June everything is green and warm. Let me know how I can help...
