Last year I was ready to trade my 323 for a 330 and after driving the 330 I changed my mind. It gave the car a flimsy, unsafe feel.
(The 330 was a 2001, they may have changed it since).

The 2001 330 was widely criticized for having over boosted power steering. They allegedly made changes in 2002. I find the steering in my 2002 M3 to be heavier than a 2002 330 which I still felt was too light.

The E46 sedan and coupes started life with just the right amount of boost. Then they overboosted it, realized the error, and went back almost to the original settings. My feeling is they didn't go all the way back.

The M3, on the other hand, was never changed since release. Same boost today as in the first E46 M3s. Some feel it's too much boost, others not enough. Me, I could use less - it's a sports / race car for crying out loud. Some people complain it's too hard to turn in the grocery store parking lots.
