The first of three Dragon drives sponsored by the Smoky Mountain BMWCCA

I-140. We will drive to the section of US-129 known as the Dragon which
takes about an hour, arriving there about 9:30AM. At the Tapcat Bridge on
Chilhowee Lake, we will drive the 12 miles over the Dragon to Deal's Gap; a
drive of about 20 minutes. We will turn around an return to Tapcat Bridge,
turn around and this time drive the entire 14 miles of the Dragon to the
Topoca Lodge where we will eat lunch. Food is available for purchase at
the Lodge, or you can bring a picnic lunch and eat on the picnic tables at
the Lodge. After lunch, we will drive the Cherohala Skyway through North
Carolina and Tennessee returning to Knoxville about 3:00Pm to 4:00PM in the

What is this drive like around New Years? We are looking for somewhere to go for a nice drive, but being from the New Orleans area, we aren't use to driving in snow.
