M///MILLER Thu, Aug-26-2004, 05:13:17 PM I have a few spots that look as if they are water spots. They are white outlined spots that will not go away with wax or anything that I have tried to date.
Please help me with suggestions and advice, I am open to anything
NunSuperior Fri, Aug-27-2004, 03:39:50 AM I have horrendous water spots on my old Acura TL that I'm going to try to remove this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes.
dskippy888 Fri, Aug-27-2004, 07:47:23 AM Did you try a fine rubbing compound or clay bar?
acitydweller Fri, Aug-27-2004, 08:34:30 PM clay baring, polish and wax will do the trick just fine. remember to be gentle with the finish and not to over exert force on the paint
M///MILLER Sat, Aug-28-2004, 03:10:16 AM I recently waxed with Zymol. Would I have to strip the wax before clay baring, or can I get the same results even though the wax is on it?
To answer, no I have not clay bared, polished, or used rubbing compound.

That wax is now protecting your paint and the waterspots on it. Strip the wax, wash the car, dry it and try a clay bar first(it's the most gentle of your options), and wash/dry it again. If you are still seeing the spots, try a polish/rubbing compound that will cut microns off the clearcoat, taking the waterspots with it. Good luck. -BJ

look closely, does it appear the paint is cracked? A very light milky spot is probably birdcrap that sat for a week.
M///MILLER Sun, Aug-29-2004, 05:13:22 AM I'll look a little closer, but I am pretty sure it's not a result of bird crap.
What do you guys suggest for stripping the wax?

Dawn or some equivalent dishwashing soap.
dskippy888 Sun, Aug-29-2004, 08:01:25 AM If you're using those car soaps that you normally mix with water before use, just use the stuff at 100% concentration. It'll strip it.
NunSuperior Tue, Aug-31-2004, 03:44:34 AM I tried Turtle Wax Scratch And Swirl Remover and Klasse All-In-One, by machine, and they didn't do squat. I'm going to find some more abrasive polish.
I have bird poo marks and some tar spots on my car too. Is there anything short of a repaint that will help these?
acitydweller Tue, Aug-31-2004, 09:40:42 AM then use a polish. it has a fine grit that will take out the water spots. i did the same on my rear quarter panel to remove water spots this past weekend.

Machine. I haven't had much luck with the 3M SMR yet or the Meguiar's Scratch X.
SpecialK Fri, Sep-03-2004, 12:47:33 PM Have you thought of taking it to someone with high speed buffer experience, if you don't already possess that yourself, to reset the finish? I received another 3M product when my hood was repainted and it seems to perform well. I can get the product number for you if you're interested.Machine. M34U2NV Fri, Sep-03-2004, 06:13:08 PM P21S paintwork cleanser is the best for removing water spots in my opinion. IF you can't find the P21S version of it, go for the S100 paint cleaner at your local harley dealer, which incidentally is also about half price of the P21S, and is the same product.
Nothing works better, im tellin' ya - give it a shot next time. For all those with black or dark colored vehicles, you will especially like this product.
