Scott M Tue, Nov-15-2011, 01:57:25 AM Your car is beautiful man. I love the front lip, it really sets your car off.
I also came from an STi- I had an '05- sweet car, lots of fun, but lacked style and comfort- the M3 beats it in every way (for me at least)
AP3X_FTW Tue, Nov-15-2011, 04:02:15 AM I have always had an eye for your car. I thought it could use a better wheel choice so I cant wait to see it with the new CSL's :thumbsup2: Great choice, with your color it will look soo clean.
I have always wondered how your exhaust sounds too. got any vids?
gnoy26 Tue, Nov-15-2011, 08:29:08 AM scott M
thanks, and i absolutely have to agree with u on the STI compared to the E46 M... liked the STI but didnt love, Lurve the 46 M down to the bone.... errr chassis hahaha

gnoy26 Wed, Nov-23-2011, 08:54:51 AM Powerflex RTAB install.
During high speeds i tend to feel the rear end getting sloppy, not so much about the tyre wear. It was time to tackle the OE RTAB
that came flimsy.
Powerflex RTAB Update (271111):
Previously during long corners the car tends to wander a certain degree, far less confident to put anymore power down.
Now the car feels more firm and planted on the rear end, providing me the confidence to put more power down.
I can feel my suspension geometry being optimized allowing my suspensions to fully function.
-would definitely recommend alignment, my toe angles were out by 2degrees
credits to Obioban (DIY)
credits to Tonester (recommending the correct Powerflex RTAB p/n)
Powerflex RTAB: PFR5-4608
1. I had the luxury of lifts, otherwise alls quite the same.
tip: best to remove mudflap piece below the bush
tip: remember to release handbrake (allows for more arm movement)
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b64/gnoy26/IMG-20111123-00363.jpg
2. Unbolt the 3 bolts holding the bush case (1 as pictured below, 2 hidden behind)
3. Bolt holding the bush wont come out easy because its blocked off by the sideskirt, dun worry about pushing the arm lower to try and get that bolt off
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b64/gnoy26/IMG-20111123-00366.jpg
4. After everythings unbolted, u could either press or like i did pry the bejinggas out of it. (as pictured after the removal, it looks slightly worn below)
5. It wasnt easy
6. I had to buy my colleague a beer =P
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b64/gnoy26/IMG-20111123-00364.jpg
7. Installing the powerflex RTAB
tip: install it with pointers and mark the few areas, of how u removed and will install. that way your alignment "shouldnt" run too far (thanks to bimmerfan08)
tip: RTAB bush facing inwards of car is harder to mount (slightly larger in diameter)
tip: slowly push it in on one side and then continue on the next
tip: i was conned, i think i was suppose to be supplied 10 packets of copper grease, but i was supplied 1 (had to use way more grease)
tip: if u can build a "Malaysia Boleh" style tool as pictured below it would definitely be much easier :laughhard:

8. TADA! all in and ready to take corners.

gnoy26 Sat, Dec-03-2011, 08:19:23 AM Guibo, Fuel Filter & CSB
The car has a slight thump whenever i shift gears. Its hard sometimes as if u were kicked in the a*s. Its the M clunk +
a slight front to rear jolt. Feels as though the diff is moving up and down, sometimes even front to rear.

The car immediately felt like the power was transferred more smoothly to the diff. Most particularly felt when u
stab the throttle and immediately lift off, there used to be a slight jolt. Now its crisp and precise. However it
did not solve the clunking i was hoping to take care of. Have yet to test the Fuel Filter. Will update on that.

gnoy26 Sat, Dec-03-2011, 08:56:14 AM Interior A & C Pillars
This as we all know is a common issue on the E46 M, i did not go with wrapping the interior pillars as i wanted it to look as OE
as possible. Plus, these were quite a good buy as they summed up the same price as if it was gonna be wrapped.
How long these will last? that is the major question =P

1. I always like to admire the new parts. Its quite addictive. Makes u wanna order more :rofl3:
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b64/gnoy26/IMG-20111202-00427.jpg
2. Theres no easy way to do this, sometimes u might even feel its gonna snap and break. Just pry as i did in the picture
tip: try to get your screwdriver as deep as possible under the light fix
tip: best if u had 2 screwdrivers and pry at the same position i did, and lower down

3. Remove the socket that gives it LIGHT!
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b64/gnoy26/IMG-20111202-00434.jpg
4. Easy, remove the torx bolt
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b64/gnoy26/IMG-20111202-00433.jpg
5. Hold the trim from the light fixture opening, there are 2 clips at the top area, do a clean yank as direct as possible, not towards up or down just straight out so it will be clean.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b64/gnoy26/IMG-20111202-00432.jpg
6. Can u see the slot? that right there is where the trim is gonna sit, place the end of the trim at the end of the slot and slowly mount it back.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b64/gnoy26/IMG-20111202-00437.jpg
7. Nice and all tucked in.
tip: u also wanna be aware of the window seal, before you press the trim in, be sure to align the seal out.

1. Pry the airbag cover out as such
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b64/gnoy26/IMG-20111202-00439.jpg
2. It should look like this, there are 3 torx screws... crap to remove with the tools i had... they didnt come off easy and i was worried scratching my windscreen.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b64/gnoy26/IMG-20111202-00440.jpg
3. Once everythings out it should look like this. Before you mount it back, identify that there is a bracket/clip sorta thing at the front end. The trim will have to sit flush otherwise it wont align.
tip: place it on, no force then try and tuck the front end clip to enter.
tip: that entered align the holes for the screw as they are not perfect
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b64/gnoy26/IMG-20111202-00441.jpg
4. This is the final outcome, enjoy

Powerflex RTAB Update:
Previously during long corners the car tends to wander a certain degree, far less confident to put anymore power down. Now the car feels more firm and planted on the rear end, providing me the confidence to put more power down. I can feel my suspension geometry being optimized allowing my suspensions to fully function.
-would definitely recommend alignment, my toe angles were out by 2degrees
Before taking off the Rear trailing arms, take some white out and make marks (3-4) on the trailing arm and the bracket it sits in. Mark different orientations. This way when you install the new bushing, you can line up the trailing arm close to the previous settings (provided the car was within aligned specs). This will save some tire wear if you cant get an alignment done right away.

Very nice car to own...especially in Malaysia! Have you taken it to the Sepang track? I haven't been home for 5 years, but will most likely be making a trip next year. Maybe we can hook up? I'm from Kluang, Johor but have plenty of relatives to visit in the KL area. Keep up the good work on the mods and maintenance...

gnoy26 Sun, Dec-25-2011, 08:14:00 AM BMW Style 67 M Rims
Just had my 67Ms refurbished, polished and resprayed. Replaced the OEM caps with newer versions. Had
the M stickers all replaced to OEM.
Kelleners 15mm spacer (Front)
Kelleners 15mm spacer (Rear)
With 15mm front and rear spacers installed the rear sits flush to the body at -2degree (could go less but im
used to them being at -2). Fronts however could come out a little more, 5-8mms more at the front would
do the trick.
With my OEM CSLs otw
19.8.5 ET40
19.9.5 ET27
those 15mms should make them look pretty tuck, without any fender work.
The guys did a really good job refreshing the look.

gnoy26 Fri, Mar-02-2012, 02:41:07 PM Brakes and Tyres Refresh
Ive been looking to change my brake pads for awhile as their running low.
Finally i ordered up front and rear pads along with disc rotors for my AP Racings.
Had a little trouble sourcing the front pads cuz the CP5555 accommodates thicker
pads (18mm as to normal 17mm pads) so here it is:
Ø356 x 32mm / 48 Vane
- RH = CP3581-536G8
- LH = CP3581-537G8
- Project MU type HC+ F1093 & F2351
With that done, i have wanted to try on the Michelin Super Sports since they
launched. I guess now would be a really good time.

As you all have read i have replaced my pillars since earlier.
But 1 of the rear pillars started falling again.
The roof lining started to collapse a little. Since this was an issue i
had them all done by a specialist. Now my roof looks brand new and
has this nice scent. maybe its just me getting high on glue :lolhit:

My car has been tuned for quite awhile now. I have practically tested this tune
in all circumstances, B roads, uphills, track, traffic and what not.
Firstly i must say. the Evolve team is 2nd to none in terms of service. Their after
sales have been amazing, Paul, Imran, Sal all work hand in hand assisting me. I
had recently done a top overhaul on my M refreshing a few parts and the dealership
mustve just updated my DME.
In trying to remap my DME back to Evolve Rs map. Upon opening the Evolve R program
i got a "beta outdated" warning. Immediately emailed Evolves support and within an
hour i got a reply from Imran directing me to the updated program.
The updated program wont read my previous tune with Evolve, without any questions
they retuned it for me. within 48hours ive got the file back fram Sal.
nothing less than top notch service i must say hands down the best.
Review Evolve R (110712)
The first thing i feel about the tune is its smoothness, having owned the Subaru
Impreza before i had my car tuned many times due to flat spots and what not.
with this tune its absolutely crisp and u feel the powerband linear as stock just
much smoother.
Power, i tyr not to convince myself otherwise or over exaggerate into thinking
that ive got massive gains but i must say myself that i can feel an improvement.
(After decatting my car, the improvement went up even more)
+points about the tune is the service and myself without the cats i definitely
dont wanna see the light come on me. All and all the tune has done its job well
perfect.

gnoy26 Mon, Jul-16-2012, 09:49:48 AM Recaro Full Bucket (130712)
-RECARO SPG Narrow
-RECARO Rails
-RECARO Side Mounts
This mod has been my most anticipated and due probably have caused me most
of my time money and lots of drama.
Upon purchasing these seats used, i have been eager to refresh the look
therefore having the back refinished and fabric professionally cleaned. 2ndly
much work had to be put into the study of making sure and confirming that my
current rails for my RECARO ASM would fit the RECARO SPGs. After much
thorough research on the rails i decided to leave it to aesthetics to decide the
side mounts and purchased the good looking aluminium silver piece...... it was
wrong... :bang:
Returned that baring the shipment cost and finally got my less beautiful but
perfect fitment actualy RECARO SPG(narrow) side mounts. (the 1s i bought
before was for the RECARO SPG XL)
In the chase to get the perfect angle, i even drilled the side mounts which i
was very much hesitant to but i MUST. Now its far better however the angle
isnt perfect yet. im looking to attach a few more spacers/washers on the rear
just to get the angle a little more upright then thatd be great.
Recaro SPG, Recaro Rails, Recaro SPG Sidemount (16712) UPDATE
Myself not very big in size. roughly 177cm in height weighing roughly 63kg
these seats fit me comfortably. Snug at all the right places but what i must
comment best about it is, its effective shoulder support. Previously used the
RECARO RSG i think the SPG fits me far better.
Other than that. id say i just need to angle the seat a little more upright then
itd be perfect.

Yo apex,
Very kind words. Thank you.
Good choice on the brakes too. The HC+ pads are top notch. They inspire
such confidence on initial bite and just feels like I've got so much control. So

Rays G25

-18 x 10.5 ET25 8.8 kg = 19.4 lbs
265 35 18 Yokohama A050 (M)
The reason i got these wheels was because of its design, and ultimately its weight. I somehow dont see a rim design that can get any lighter
than this without giving away strength. EG: BBS FI. I must say that, its the most beautiful mod i have done yet.
The most anticipated mod since i started tracking the car. I knew nothing else was more necessary than fitting my old A050s from my Subbie.
Initially i was worried the front 9.5 ET37 would touch the abs and that it might not clear my AP racings as they are the CP5555. Upon arrival,
we test fitted them and they went on like a charm, clearing the brakes with approx 1 inch and the inner abs with 5mm - 7mm.
I was actually skeptical about the 10.5s rear, i had the option for 9.5 ET15 but opted the wider rim because, im just greedy. I should have went
for the 9.5 ET15s. Never the less what has been done is done and hope that in time i would utilize the tyres to its limit and upsize to the 295s
for the rear.
*more pics to come and a short review on the tyres after my track day on 22nd. thanks for viewing.

gnoy26 Mon, Aug-06-2012, 12:31:04 PM guys need a little bit of help here in choosing my camber plates.
after researching it seems as though these are the options
1. vorshlag
2. ground control
3. turner
are available. im in favour of the vorshlag plates. help me out here... what do u guys have?
happy with it or shouldve opted for others?
flipm3 Mon, Aug-06-2012, 01:11:23 PM Car looks great! It's about time someone got the G25s for the E46!
Among those camber plates, I'd probably pick the Vorshlag's since they are said to be silent. If your intentions are to have the adjustability, definitely get the camber plates. If you are trying to target a certain spec, -3°, you should try just swapping the top mounts and see if that's enough camber for you.
Best of luck with the decision!
gnoy26 Mon, Aug-06-2012, 05:02:00 PM Hey thanks flip,
I did try swapping my top mounts vice versa. I achieved a -4 degree camber on
each side. Way tooo much. I was hoping -2.5 degree, if it was at -2.5 degree I
wouldn't bother for camber plates.
Anyways any1 else with any ideas?
My concern is also the stack height of the plates. Are they higher than OEM or less?

-4?!?!?! Whoa....when you swapped them, did you make sure that the arrows pointed forward?
You shouldn't get any more than 2.5 to 3.0 depending on your ride height.

hmmm that cant be, i wasnt aware bout the arrows. but isnt it just a 1 position?
meaning to say the left top mount should say right and ^ towards the front?
ill look into this good heads up. i mounted them and they were at -4++ degrees.
very ghetto honestly speaking. looks as though the suspensions have failed.

gnoy26 Tue, Sep-25-2012, 07:46:35 AM Ulu Yam, Gohtong and Karak Convoy 050812. The meeting with Bulls and Horses
A convoy awhile back that was amazing fun. In Malaysia we have a few spirited routes, this particular was one of the more famous ones.
We often begin on the highway at 7.00am in the morning to skip the jam at a highway known as "Karak" then travel to a place by the hills
known as "Ulu Yam" here its beautiful, the scenery of hills, landscape and lakes as we pass rivers and sorts. From tight to long corners some
notorious for its blind sections are great fun to drive.
We would reach a place known as "Gohtong" for breakfast then head on back down to the highways of "Karak"
Here was when things this particular time got interesting, while on the way down from Karak, sweeping corners and some straights came some
Bulls and Horses. Enough of me typing. Check this out.

Did some preperations before the trackday. Overall was very happy with the result. Previously achieved
2.42s on Michelin Super Sports without much prep. Currently achieved 2.35s on Yokohama A050s, could
definitely feel much less understeer. However after im convinced i definitely need a front sway.
1. Swapped top hats (Top mounts/absorber mounting)
Finally achieved more camber on my front axle, swapped the top hats left to right:

2. Recaro SPG side protector
had these come in as i was worried wrecking the sides of my seats, i was convinced that i wont but maybe a
jockey or my mechanics might scrub it abit.

Subaru Impreza S203
Subaru Impreza Version 8

gnoy26 Mon, Nov-19-2012, 11:33:48 AM McKee Festival of Speed at Sepang Internation Circuit (181112)
Did more prep this time, changed the tyres, adjusted alignment further, fiddled
with rebound and changed the exhaust.
Hankook R-S3
265 35 18s all round. Would have preferred 285s at the rear however Malaysia
has never carried those sizes yet and are now on back order for the first time.
They get up to temp very quickly and when they do they are amazing. Whats
even more wonderful about these tyres is that most would get greasy after a
few laps, the RS3 was optimum lap after lap. The tyre grip level doesnt just
drop it gets there and you will feel its been pushed too hard or need some air
to drop a few on temp. Met expectations, expectations were high though.
Gruppe M Ti
Weight was my first priority, however looks and sound level must also be
achieved. I was very impressed with the Gruppe M titanium exhaust. I weighted
it at 6+kg a whopping 20+kg savings right there. Looks amazing at the tips, me
being quite anal about how tuck it should look was happy with the amount of
adjustability it offered. Some manual work such as siliconing the exhaust hangers
needed to be done other than that it was very direct. No modifications needed.
Alignment & Rebound
Current
Front (PSS9 set to 3)
camber -3 degree
toe -0.5
Rear (PSS9 set to 3)
camber -2 degree
toe +0.3
The car was twitchier than expected but it might have been because i was a
little more used to the semi slicks A050s then was good for me. However i feel
that the setup now should be alright however the next time ill just soften the
rears a notch just to see how that goes.
OVERALL:
It was a very very bad day. As we speak my car is at the workshop solving a
melt down of the power steering reservoir. It was a heat race and i was enjoying
myself too much i must have done 6+ laps till i melted the power steering reservoir
cap. Eventually power steering started to fail and it costed me my day at the track.
Today the car is at the workshop still being diagnosed, as of now the
reservoir has been replaced, the power steering lines free of plastic. Hopefully
nothing major will suffice.
Other than that my friends and i had a gread day, McKee a tuning workshop
that specialises in GTR R35s organized this day and was a close invitation only
event therefore it was more saddening than ever. We had lotsa snack as
though it was a picnic along side the track, beers (no driving) but lotsa chats.
Overall not too bad.

///M_Achilles Mon, Nov-19-2012, 12:13:23 PM Great feedback about the RS-3's :thumbsup2: we are practicality running the same alignment specs and tire sizes, so reading your short review inspires confidence. That's great to know they met your expectations at the track. I have to a make a couple of changes before I hit the track again but it'll be interesting to compare notes. What were the track conditions like?
I'm not sure of what exhaust I'd trade for a Kress. But the Gruppe M is a worthy replacement. I'm sure it sounds raw and distinguished.
About your PS reservoir... Was it leaking slightly before the event? I've got minor leakage right now which is normal I'm told. Sorry to hear about your problem man. Best of luck
gnoy26 Mon, Nov-19-2012, 05:33:37 PM Hey ///M Achilles,
Yeah they are really good. You must share when you have feedback.
The weather in Malaysia on average is roughly 35degrees Celcius and its very humid here.
The PS on our cars are supposedly exceptional however the expansion hoses tend to leak,
nothing drastic but they do. I have replaced mine twice but they still do and have given up.
So to answer your question yes the PS was leaking slightly at the hose but not at the reservoir.
The reservoir didnt leak after the event either but the cap melted into the reservoir filter and
stringed a line of plastic clogging the hose even until after the pump.
Fingers crossed the rack is ok.

into the reservoir.
I had to retire that day back to my workshop to further analyze the damage. It
turned out that it was worst than i thought. All the hoses had been clogged and thankfully before the rack there was a valve protecting it. There we found even more blockage.
