View Full Version : Fonzii08's Alpine White ZCP M3 Journal
Fonzii08 Sun, Feb-20-2011, 06:53:25 PM I entered the BMW world 2 years ago with the purchase of a forest green 2001 325i (I don't have any pictures) New Years Eve 2008. It was an awesome little car especially after the terrible time i had with my first car in high school (gold 99 Mazda 626 v6). Which had over heating problems and slug from the previous owner not maintaining it properly.
The 325i was an automatic with steptronic(which was cool because even though I know how to drive a stick I've never done it, my dad was gonna teach me but we never got the opportunity). I ended up putting a K&N 69 series intake and a cat back Borla exhaust on it, which improved power and fuel efficiency. Even though the car was great, I knew i wanted an M3, so I had been saving up since I joined the Air Force in July of 08 after graduation in May.
Last year in April or May I think, I started looking for M3s (in Alpine White at first, and then at Titanium Silver Metallic, and all 3 blues). I deployed in June 2010, and returned in Oct 2010 and had my 325i paid off. I found a couple M3s that I liked(both Titanium Silver) and talked with the sellers but nothing worked out so I just moved on.
At the end of 2010 in late Dec again, I found a gorgeous 05 AW ZCP coupe with 66k miles and the cold weather package, no sunroof, Alcantara/Black leather, SMG, and Nav on Ebay and was in love. So i messaged the seller and got things rolling. A couple weeks later I was the owner of an 05 M3. It was located in Dublin, OH at a Dealer named The Toy Barn(they specialize in exotics and high performance cars, they are also very helpful and knowledgeable).
A couple weeks later I drove to my Grandparents House about an hour from Dublin and the sells rep that I dealt with met me there. When he pulled up in the M3 I was in awe of its power and beauty that and couldn't believe that this was my car(my actual thoughts). We talked a bit and I test drove the M and was still in awe, it was so much more car then my 325i. After the test drive we traded cars and went our ways. Unfortunately it was right around freezing that day so I could not wash/wax the M3. I spent rest of the day getting to know my M and reading the vast amounts of records they had on it. On drive back to Jersey was quite fun especially on the interstate on ramps and turnpike exits.

Thanks, more pics coming soon as ive ordered some mods but those will be revealed when they arrived and go on the car :D
Fonzii08 Tue, Feb-22-2011, 11:23:47 PM I tried to hold off as long as I could but the mod bug has struck......
First, I ordered the smoked corner and side markers with the LED license plate lights on last Wednesday this week from EAS.
Second, a couple days later I couldn't help it again.....this time I ordered the Black out kit and painted reflectors from Turner Motorsport last Friday
And being on the east coast it just so happened that they arrived on the same day and will be going on the car in a couple days when I change the oil, which I also got from Turner a while back but decided to wait until I reached 67,500 which I reached today, so on to pics

thanks, i was thinking the same thing but i couldnt stand the amber so i went with the smoked, i can always switch if i dont like them
Fonzii08 Thu, Feb-24-2011, 10:35:02 PM Just finished installing the smoked corner, side marker lights and the black out grills and gills and well as LED license plate lights. It's a little dark now to take pictures, I'll take them tomorrow. I also found out that the previous owner already did the tail light mod. :D
I've got some more goodies on the way. Black license plate with the M logo (back ordered at Turner), Mono Chrome wheel logos, Black M3 logo for the trunk and 3 different gray style stripes for the trunk emblem (wasn't sure which would look best). As well as black alcantara smg shift and e-brake boot with M stitching(it will take a couple days to make). And a color matched key hole cover for the driver door key hole.
Fonzii08 Fri, Feb-25-2011, 12:59:50 PM Unfortunately its raining like crazy and with winds in upwards of 50 knots which is supposed to continue all day. If it clears up I'll take some pics of the mods I put on yesterday but looking at the radar I don't think it will. *edit* It let up enough around lunch to take some pictures *edit*

Thanks, I've been trying to find a set of rims that I like that not many people have. I haven't really found anything, if I stick with the rims I have now I might mix and match the grills.
williemandowa Thu, Mar-03-2011, 03:07:19 AM paint wheels black and it will look sick and match grills
Fonzii08 Thu, Mar-03-2011, 04:18:21 AM paint wheels black and it will look sick and match grills
I thought about that, and I was also looking into other rims in black as well. But as of right now I'm not sure which I'm going to do.
Maseroche Thu, Mar-03-2011, 09:04:06 AM Keep the current wheels! They really compliment the M3 really well. Very clean look.

I've been thinking that as well and that's what is making the decision difficult :lolhit:
Fonzii08 Mon, Mar-14-2011, 10:14:10 PM I just ordered the stage 1 intake charge kit and 60 led angel eye kit from EAS :thumbsup2:
edit: I also signed up for the BMWCCA New Jersey chapter driver school on the 11th and 12th of April at NJMP Lightning :D

Fonzii08 Tue, Mar-15-2011, 01:37:34 PM The alcantara SMG and hand brake boot that I ordered from Bimmian.com should be delivered today :D
I'm working 6 12 hour shifts this week and next week so I'm not sure when I'm going to install them but I'll try to get some pics of them up
Fonzii08 Tue, Mar-22-2011, 12:13:42 AM The Macht Schnell intake charge kit from EAS arrived today and I actually had a few minutes off of work to install it. The EAS Aurora Angel Eyes are back ordered at the moment otherwise I would install those too. The install was super easy, I didn't even remove the strut bar like the installation guide included said to.

Fonzii08 Thu, Mar-24-2011, 08:21:13 PM how do you like that Macht Schnell intake, any sound difference?
There is a slight sound difference most notable at start up, and the car runs smoother in general. I haven't had a chance to really open her up since I put it in cause the weather has been terrible. But overall I happy with it.
Fonzii08 Sun, Mar-27-2011, 12:51:52 AM My Euro tray short and long version in black just came in from Tischer, they've been on back order for about a month. I got the long version as well because I wasn't sure which I would like better lol. When will decide which one I like best I'll probably sell the other one but that will be in a few months as I just got a call on Friday saying that I'm leaving on a deployment on Monday for a couple months. The good news is I'll be picking up the rims that I bought from Chris (M3freak86), as well as a csl rear diffuser from the group buy, Aurora angel eyes from EAS (the previous 3 items have already been bought and awaiting pick up or shipping) and I'll be ordering my exhaust when I get back :D (ss stepped v2 headers, ss un-res x-pipe, and ss race muffler)
