I seriously am considering purchasing a M coupe this summer, and i would like to know if the Cons outweigh the Pros for buying a 2002 with under 35K miles. What are the most common problems you have all seen with this model? I know that if i went with a 02, i would have a little more than a year of remaining factory warrenty remaining, but because i see a fair number of people having troubles with their M3s, i am unsure if i want to take the plunge with a Used M. This would not be my daily driver. Thanks for any info given.

I've had mine for about a year...picked it up from a private party with 15K miles. It drives like a dream...I have had some trouble with the cam sensor, spitting rear-wiper and bad understeer at the autocross, but in stock condition, it's the most stable car I have ever driven.

If you are thinking about it, then do it. I'm driving the '01 S54.
