I've been using the forum since 07, disregard the date when I joined :thumbsup2: Let me start with a little bit of my vehicle background and tracking background.

First of all my first vehicle was a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant ES. Mods were true CAI, kw suspension, custom interior;cosmetics if you will. I learned how to handle a little bit with that suspension and it was my first taste of suspension work that I accomplished myself. I did all my work from day one of ownership of my first vehicle.

Second vehicle was acquired when I was in England. I owned a Toyota Soarer GT-T Twin turbo with 2jz and AEM CAI. That vehicle was my first TT and higher powered car, so I experienced a few track days with that car :) I tracked it at Snetterton and Donington Park... I miss it to this day

Third vehicle is the famous e46 m3 vert. This is and probably will be my favorite vehicle for a very long time and probably will buy one for my lady or z4m later on down the road:) Anyways, this vehicle showed me what an all around performance car was and how it did its job thoroughly! Suspension was stock but I had Fabspeed headers/HFC/Shark software/HR spacers and front and rear sways/BMC filters and it was SMG. I took this vehicle on the famous Nurburgring a total of 8 times before selling it and I have also driving on the Grand Prix track there as well once. Very lovely car and as you can see the paragraph is larger on this one haha.

For the winter time I own a 320i Euro spec as I'm still in Germany. Front and Rear sway bars, NGK plugs and performance filter with high measurable oil. No radio/light seats/lowered/ I6 with 5 spd are the jist of what I installed for it. I bought new drills rotors/HAWK hps pads and ECS tuning lines for it but I soon realized that it was a bit more of a winter vehicle not a drift car because of rust issues and I sold the random extra parts.

Now onto the good stuff, e92 m3, "light package" I like to call it. AW/Coupe/EDC/DCT/ipod. Thats all the options I got because I want to do this vehicle up properly. I've already ordered 275/35/18 for some extra grip and 255 35 18 soon. Going with HFC and X pipe from Fabspeed as well as a tune from ESS up in norway and finally lower it a taste with HR. I do understand that by lower a vehicle with EDC the highest mode of EDC will be absolutely useless as far as staying on course because of the rigidnss and stiffness of the suspension at this point with being lower. Only EDC at normal will be used.

Along with those few things that I've already said, haha, what other up coming things do you guys here at the forum think I can add to the vehicle or improve on or remove for a better suited track vehicle/weekend vehicle?

:thumbsup2:

Complete Suspension
Brakes/pads
Battery
C/F parts
Exhaust
Rims
Tires

If you wanna go crazy..

Roll bar/Cage
rear seat delete
take out your air conditioner
Replace your rear windshield with special light weight plastic/ceramix kits.
Sway bars
Strut bars
Huge Wing
Brake Ducts/Cooling
Upgraded oil cooler
Steering wheel

BUt then again, in my opinion. Even if you buy all these things, you were better off buying a used 997.1 GT3. Which would outrun your M3 and its in the same price area considering you invest in all these mods.

I will use the stockie 18s for now, to get a better feel for the vehicle and understand it to see what and where I need to upgrade to. I've alreadyordered new PS2 tires in a larger size. Exhaust will be Fabspeed HFC and Xpipe. Since I know how to properly brake, I will use the stock pads until I see that they are useless and I need more stopping power. What CF parts do you suggest. This is my first track vehicle.

Not just that. Depending on how hard you want to go on the track. If you plan on taking those crazy turns, and really pushing. Your stock pads wont even last 4 laps.

Their a million reviews about random noises and sounds come from the stock brakes and pads. You must change them in the future. And yes I agree, drive it a couple times and feel what you need.

In my honest opinion if you are going to take it slow modding and step by step.

I would high suggest to cosmetic and engine mods last.

First would be to get coilovers. Its a must, and then brake pads.

Coilovers are very important, their a many brands.

I would go with KW CS, Moton, GC, TCK.

So your suggesting that I deleted my whole EDC system.

Depending on what kit you get, yes. You might have to take it out.

It all depends how hard you want to run, your corners, and daily driver use.

What is your level of experience on the track? OP and AFRO?

OP, upgrade the brake pads, put in high temp fluid (DOT 4 or 5) and learn the handling characteristics of the car in its stock form before you make any adjustments or modifications.

I agree with that M3 madness, my level of experience is still new. I have been on plently of diff types of tracks. I'm slowly learning the charateristics of the e92, its extremely well tamed under a good amount of pushing..its hardly the aggressive performer like the e46 m3.

Got a suspension suggestion for when you are ready to upgrade: Go with AST 5100s. If you are still getting honing your skills this is a good suspension for you. Also this suspension is upgradeable to 5200s and 5300s, so you can upgrade as you advance.

IMHO - for the first year, stick to stock except for Tires (PS2s are not great track tires, try Advans, star specs or Nt-05s) & brake upgrades - pads, fluid, & SS lines . Then begin to slowly mod the car. The e92 is a very capable car and I would not suggest upgrading the suspension just yet, or at least until you reach a level where you feel you are starting to hit the limits of the car.

We've tracked our e92 M3 with RD Sport Sway Bar, KW V3 coilovers along with Yokohoma Advan AD08 tires and it's worked great. These parts of your car is what I would definitely suggest you look at first, along with brake upgrades (pads/ brake lines/ brake fluid) to start off. We also have Recaro Pole Positions, AP Racing BBK, and VF Engineering supercharger on the M3 when it was at the track.

Let me know if you have any questions :)

Now as far as the RD sports bar, thats front and rear, but the suspension seems Extremely Stable.

What is the difference between the kw3 and ASTs

I'd just get lessons with a driver first before any mods...and I wouldh't get KW's...
progress from there by speaking to your driver, discovering your skills, and engineer the car from there...

Sounds good. A friend, he has given me 3 lessons in his GT3 RS on the ring as well as he driving my car and my driving my car with him in it.

Thanks for the help everyone, continue giving guidance!
