Sarajevo Fri, Dec-18-2009, 02:13:31 PM Lance Armstrong has to be....the doper of the decade.
This coming from someone who was a huge fan for years, read his books, follows cycling every day, etc.
He is good for cycling, he does help people with their hope and fight for cancer but he is one of the biggest lies ever. Most type A, controlling and obsessive compulsive athlete and person out there of all.
I wish he would just pack up his bags and leave cycling for once and all and let the new generation take his (and many other, tainted, old timers) sports.
tenfifteen Fri, Dec-18-2009, 02:17:20 PM Lance Armstrong has to be....the doper of the decade.
Seems likely, but what evidence of this exists?

Lance is not just a man, but a foundation of cycling, his name and power in and outside of the sport is unmatched.
Plenty former team mates made statements about US Postal doping practices but anyone that has dared to put anything serious to Armstrongs name gets sued into the ground and is afraid to do so. Lance has too much power, too much control and too much money.
Anyone that ever said anything about him got hushed into being quiet really quick. Cycling is a sport where when after you retire, people stay in the sport: Team Managers, Assistant Directors, journalist, commentators, consultants, etc. If you say anything against Lance, you're pretty much written off in the cycling world.
The only critic that had the power and the balls to call him out was Greg Le Mond. Someone who accidentally was the first american to win the TDF and won it two times. Someone who knows what the limits of the body are and someone who has the money to defend himself and is independent from the cycling machine.
His lie about Chris Carmicheal being his coach, who only serves as a cover up while lance worked with Ferrari (an italian Dr. who was notorious for working with cyclists and helping them dope as in increase their output through higher Hormone levels, etc.)
There is a huge amount to this, to make it short for you; EVERYONE in the 1990-2007 or so at the top level of the sport of cycling doped...heavily. Many were cought, many admitted it, and some got lucky or were too big to bring down. Today they are still just the few that have the money for the undetectable stuff and advanced practices which are harder to pin down. Since pretty much everyone on the top level doped, there is no way that Lance and his team were able to dominate anyone out there riding clean
If you've got some time and are interested, Id highly suggest you check out this site: http://cozybeehive.blogspot.com/2009/11/8-things-on-lance-armstrong-from-other.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%253A+CozyBeehive+%2528COZY+BEEHI VE%2529
It helps put things into a perspective. Im gonna stop writing about this since there is just so much that could be written but welcome anyone to think for themselves and read the site.
The majority of the people though (not you maybe) will stay Lance loyals, because everyone wants to believe, everyone wants to hope and its easier to swim with the current, buy into the hype and the mythos then to think independently and raise questions.
Let me know what you think if you spend some time on that site i posted!
Mobbin_PCH Fri, Dec-18-2009, 02:40:42 PM lance is a douche

MYKIDZM3 Fri, Dec-18-2009, 02:57:10 PM OH lord what has happened to another one of ZOZO's freds?
Hey did anybody PM ZOZO to ask about his new pad?
LALaw Fri, Dec-18-2009, 03:14:18 PM College football - no one.
NFL - Tom Brady. I can't pick Payton Manning because his team has been closer to the Atlanta Braves - regular season dominance over a long period, but only one title to show for it. We'll see if history repeats itself this season.
NBA - I  at admitting it, but Kobe Bryant - whether it was winning titles with Shaw, stabbing Shaq in the back, raping hotel employees, badmouthing his teammates, gunning for points and sabotaging his team, or finally getting a clue and leading his team to victory, Bryant dominated this decade.
MLB - Boston Red Sox. They won just as many titles as the Yankees and threw off an 86 year title drought in doing so.
Athlete of the Decade - Lance Armstrong. His dominance of his sport is unparalleled. I would put Tiger Woods behind him, with Michael Phelps a close third.
tenfifteen Fri, Dec-18-2009, 03:29:05 PM Phelps is a good choice. I have a hard time picking Woods, because as fit as he is, golf doesn't require him to be. "Sports" where 59 year old guys are in the finals, or fat guys have longish careers don't really make me think "athlete." Golf takes a lot of skill, but physically, it's essentially a lot of walking punctuated by a few outbursts of swinging (and then only in the long game). Tiger has dominated because he trains hard, but to put him over Federer or Armstrong... meh, I can't do it.

Pro football Player
Pro B-Ball Player
Major League Player
Pro Hockey Player
Athlete from team sports
And finally ATHLETE OF THE DECADE
College Football: Tebow, Leinhart and Bush would all make for a competitive argument.
Pro Football: Brady, easily. A sleeper for this is LaDanian Tomlinson. Most rushing yards this decade, most touchdowns IIRC as well
Pro Ball: Being a homer with Kobe - has scored the most points this decade and also a part of 4/10 championships
MLB: JOSH BECKETT. How have you guys left this one out?
Hockey: Ugh..
Athlete of the Decade, Roger Federer. Really a shame AP gave it to Tiger. Tennis is such a quick lived sport, being able to stay at his game for this long is special.
oh.. Athlete from team sports: This is a hard one for me. I am not going to pick Prince Albert because frankly I am not too sure of his usage status (being cynical on that). That being said.. I would probably have to go with Peyton Manning. yes I dont think he is the most impressive for the decade overall in his own sport, but individually from single season to season he probably leaves the best taste in your mouth
///M3DINA Tue, Dec-22-2009, 07:16:01 PM College football player - Reggie Bush
Pro football Player - Peyton Manning
Pro B-Ball Player - Tim Duncan
Major League Player - Mo Rivera
Pro Hockey Player - Brodeur
Athlete from team sports - Mo Rivera
And finally ATHLETE OF THE DECADE - Roger Federer - (edges out Tiger and Lance)
johnhk79 Sat, Jan-02-2010, 05:22:02 AM College football player - Matt Leinart - 1 AP, 2 national BCS, 1 Heisman ... Tim Tebow (4 years, rushing records, Heisman, BCS champ) and Vince Young (best QB play I've seen during his BCS year) are both my runner-ups.
Pro football Player - Tom Brady - multiple Super Bowls, record #s, best QB ... Ray Lewis is the runner-up. Best defensive leader we've seen in the last decade, elite 4-3 as well as elite 3-4 when Nolan was there. No matter who played on that defense, the Ravens were great.. and when you lead the defense of a Super Bowl winning team with Dilfer as your QB, nuff said.
Pro B-Ball Player - Kobe Bryant - when his peers acknowledge him as the best, it's safe to say he is. his game is constantly evolving even when he is the best in the league. best footwork, shoot left or right handed, post-up game, Championships
Major League Player - Barry Bonds - PEDs aside, hand and eye coordination is unparalleled. the most complete player EVER being able to get on base via hit or walk, hit for power, steal bases, take the best angles fielding the ball
Pro Hockey Player - i don't watch hockey.
Athlete from team sports - Kobe Bryant
And finally ATHLETE OF THE DECADE - Tiger Woods - dominates and makes people watch his sport. when you can make women famous for giving blow jobs, that's when you know you're famous.
