hi, i have a 2005 e46 m3 competition, looking to drop the car 1.5 inches in the front and 1 inch in the rear, i want a flush look when the tire is equaly aligned witht the fender, i am currently running stock csl wheels, my question is that do i need wider wheels or wider tires to get this look? for example my friends tire size is 255/35 front and 285/30 in the rear will this size rub on my car do you think?

get some Ground-Control or TCK coilovers and add on spacers 15mm in front and 12mm in the rear! and you will be set!

I'll support what pete says, when i bought mine it was "on its knees" so to speak. I assumed it just needed a pump up but hammered down price all the same. It was a good job i did as all 4 spheres were ruptured, the car could be brought to the right height but a speedbump at say 15 mph would bounce me out of the seat! - almost certainly the damage was done by someone who though it looked better that way! running an f low risks sphere damage of you hit a lump, lower it gets the more the risk increases.
