I am not talking about million dollar supercars, but production $90k cars. Especially when they are m tuned. Any new ///m 12 would probably reseble two s54's slammed together, thats thats 686 hp in euro spec, and subtracting losses to to joining them would probably end up around 600.

part emissions, part driveability, part expense.

They cant put an engine into a production vehicle thats going to rev to 12,000 rpm's or higher like the F1 engines. It would have no low end, and would be difficult to put an automatic in as well without a large stall torque converter. A manual would be hard to drive slow as well, an engine like that probably barely idles and at that it would be around 1500rpm. It could never pass emissions, running high lift, long duration cams it would also be a high compression ratio as well. All of these increase airflow and power but emissions as well. Expense, the crank/main bearing/rod/piston structure would have to be made entirely out of expensive materials and machined to exacting tolerances. Just not going to happen in a production vehicle.

An M7 huh? I wonder if it will ever see USA soil. I don't think it looks that bad for a huge luxo-cruiser.

garbage sohc. Sorry but that motor sucked, you can buy one for like 500 bucks cause of all the electrical problems...good luck getting it to work.

Have you ever driven one??? I'm sorry but they are nice as H*LL!!! They may lack in power per liter, but how on many late 80's engineered motors (even modern day) can you put a nickel on While running??? Very few...
Anyways, I wouldn't say it sucked... I would just say technology has evolved...

im speaking from semi-personal experience, my neighbor had one, and that thing was always in the shop.

and yes it was an advanced motor, but the technology was too unreliable, it was all fairly new so they were having problems. Its smooth as hell i agree, its like driving on glass, but just cause its smooth and just cause it makes over 300hp doesnt mean its an incredible motor...just advanced for its time.

theres a guy w/ the sohc v12 inside an ultima gtr...its making over 600hp natuarly aspirated, but its got a standalone engine management system.

i still hate sohc though...it really sucks

It's not the best technology, I'll give you that... BUT we've never had enginer problems - ever...
