m3tempted Mon, Mar-29-2004, 07:04:50 PM Folks,
Any suggestions on how to remove coffee stains from my grey Nappa leather? I tried the old soap and water trick but that did not work.
Thanks.

How long was the coffee incontact with the leather, and how much did ya spill on the seats? Because of the fact that coffee is acidic, it may have embedded itself deeper than your soap/water solution (i wouldnt use soap on nappa simply b/c it would dry it out and leave it prone to crack/fade).
Anyways, there are numerous leather cleaners & conditioners that will work nicely against your stain, and renew the luster of your nappa seats.
I use Four Star Premium Leather Cleaner followed by Four star premium leather conditioner. Meguiars & Lexxol also have ready-made leather cleaners/conditioners that do an equally impressive job in stain removal.
Try a high quality cleaner followed by conditioner (using a soft terry towel to apply/buff off) and let me know how it works out.
Hope this helps.

m3tempted Tue, Apr-06-2004, 04:00:01 PM Hi All,
I took it to these guys who tried to clean it. They started with a leather cleaner and then moved to a degreaser after that the cleaner didnt work. It got it somewhat clean, but did not do the whole trick. Kinda strange. I always thought leather was the most resilient to stains. BTW, it was a latte type drink from Starbucks, so it was quite frothy and had all kinds of cinammon and sh!t.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
Beowoulf Tue, Apr-06-2004, 04:03:12 PM Leather is a porous natural material and can stain just like any other natural material. BTW, it is probably the cinammon that is the worst culprit.
m3tempted Tue, Apr-06-2004, 04:05:38 PM Yeah, I figured the cinammon was the culprit, judging from the color of the stain. Gotta make a sign saying "No Food or Drinks Allowed" even for hot chicks.

If a woman got $2 million from Mcdonald's....you def. got a shot at Starbuck's!!!
Ced Tue, Apr-06-2004, 06:48:08 PM I had tan leather in my e46 328 and the dye from my black belt would get on the lumbar part of my seats. I like lighter colored leather, actually I was thinking hard on the cinnamon leather, but looking at longevity I wanted something that wouldn't show dirt as much, so I opted for black. Black leather is nice and it's not hot inside either...also it's a classic color...
Sirius Tue, Apr-06-2004, 09:20:02 PM Try this stuff called "Spray 9". Get it at a trackauto type of place. I use it at work to remove various stains from various surfaces. Works great, and won't hurt your leather, at least I haven't seen it do damage yet.
