Hi guys, nice to be here,

I have just taken ownership of a 2003 e46 m3. It has 39000 miles and 19" rims. it is a soft top and I bought it with a detachable hard roof. Here are some of my worries which I hope you can help me with.

1. Slight hesitation for oil light to go out on start up (no rattles).
2. When braking hard from speed there is a drone from brakes.
3. Gears Notchy.
4. Hold engine at 3000rpm in neutral at standstill, car vibrates.
5. left hand door mirror has mind of its own and likes to look at floor?

Not much of a car expert but if #5 happens when you put it in reverse its meant to help assisting in parking. You can disable it by sliding the driver/passenger switch for the mirrors to the driver side.

check your level, take it to your trusted mechanic have em look at it...i had a 08 g35 before i got my m3, i had a very doubts like you but my mechanic was like they are all a little finiky and its the sacrifice u make to have the benefit...also get your mirror motor replaced. :)

It's highly recommended you have a PPI done before you buy, especially on a performance car. Since you have already bought, take it to a shop to have it inspected. That way you will know of any issues and can address them from that point.

1. Slight hesitation for oil light to go out on start up (no rattles).

check the oil level

2. When braking hard from speed there is a drone from brakes.

that is normal with drilled rotors

3. Gears Notchy.

new tranny fluid (oem lt-2 is preferrable, but i've used royal purple with great results)

5. left hand door mirror has mind of its own and likes to look at floor?
move the side mirror adjustment to the other side, in the US when its on the drivers side, the mirror goes down with in reverse, it may be the opposite in the UK as u drive on the other side of the road (that is if ur in the UK)

Well, if your experiencing such problem, I guess you need to bring your car to a car repair, where they can check what is going on with it. If need to be fixed...much better.
