I wanted to make a short M3 film using some kind of video editing software/program....basically a compilation of posted vids that i have downloaded throughout the years....coupled with some badass music to make it like an Automotive symphony.

ANyhow, i was wondering if any of you could help/suggest any prog's or necessary software i would need to make, or i should say attempt to make, a sweet M3 movie compilation with music added into it.

Thanks in advance guys.

Also, if some of you are already working on a project similar to this, id love to share some ideas/music suggestions that we can work off of.

Best software out there for video editing is Adobe Premiere. It's expensive however unless you can purchase it at a student discount rate.

How about 'downloading' the 'official' version of that software. Im guessing someone out there has a few spare copies floating around.

Does it take alot of time to learn and familiarize with the movie editing features? Or is it fairly easy and straight forward, which would allow any joe shmoe to figure his way waround it and make a edcent movie.

Adobe Premier is the way to go. It'll probably take you a few hours to get familiar with the program; it's not the easiest video editing software out there, but it really isn't too difficult and is a very powerful program. Another suggestion is to keep the engine sounds in the video. You can have music too, but don't completely remove the engine noise. People hate that.

Looking forward to the video :)

For certain reasons, I am not an advocate of piracy of software. That being said, Adobe Premiere is not all the difficult to work with. It is some what intuitive and has a large user community to help you out. It will make your videos look PRO.

Taking away the engine sounds from an M3 video is like taking off the clothes of a fat ugly woman.....it just doenst make sense.

Hehe, ill look into all of your suggestions, hopefully i will get the ball rolling on this by late next week.

Well, ive been sitting at my PC for like 2 hours now.....just playing around with the various M3/M5 movies i have (not editing, just finding portions of the clips with nice maneuvers, sweet exhaust notes etc....) and i have been trying to mesh it with Prodigy's song 'smak my ***** up' while doing so.

Its an amater attempt yes, and i do plan to get the software and actually dissect the song and the movies to make then in unison....but let me tell you that i DID get some sweet video clips to mesh with the song PERFECTLY....and it BLEW ME AWAY!

I was laughing in happiness b/c it looked so badass.

That woman from their song (about midway into smak my ***** up) has a loooong solo portion that she sings on a single breath. After a few seconds the pace of the sond quickens, she intensifies her voice, techno drums chime in with increasing intesnity and speed.....and at the moment when the dued says " Smak my ***** up" i meshed an M3 doing a SICK drift!!

I cant wait to do this movie and share it with you all, you'll understand the feeling im talking about...i have goosebumps just talking about it.

:D :D :D

I understand. I do. When things come together while editing it is a great feeling.

I helped a friend make his first video after visiting a tuner shop in Norwalk, CT. He used Videowave as it is the easiest application (IMHO) to use if you want to jump in with both feet and start editing. He laid the clips down in order, marked the in/out points, selected the transitions, chose the background MP3 and hit "produce."

I couldn't believe how amazingly polished the finished video looked:

I was searching through my M3/M5 video Library....and i came to realize that i dont have as many as i would like.

I checked out 'Vids' section, and downloaded all of those too.

If any of you have additional video's not currently listed on this site, please PM me, post them here or contact me in general.

The more vid's i have, the more 'juicy' and good scenes i can use in making this.

Its going to be alot of work i think, but its worth it....especially to see how the final product will look like!

Thx again.

Oh and Haithem, i may be contacting you in the future with questions/asking for help of some sorts, be prepared.

Jupiter/PB huh? Nice! We used to have a house in that area in a development called Frenchman's Creek. I think it was on Donald Ross BLVD...

I miss that area. I miss the Gardens Mall. I miss the girls/women in that area. :(

Absolutely. I remember back when I was at Rollins College just outside of Orlando for a few years, I used to hit the Frenchman's house on the weekends and go to this club down on Clematis St. called Respectables...this was back in the day, though, in late 1991/1992. It was an amazingly fun time.

Last year I was back in that area and did a feature for DTM Power that included a trip down to Active Autowerke in Miami. I could not believe how much the area had changed - it was so overpopulated in comparison to what I remembered...but I hit my old school favorite restaurant Vulcanos so all was well. :D

Oh yea, Frenchmans is very nice, I have not even thought about Respectables in ages lol , I did just go down and have lunch right next door to that place today about 20 minutes ago. Clamatis is so pricey I dropped $27.00 for 2 slices of pizza and a one scoop of ice cream for lunch.
BTW I live right behind Volcanos, can hit it w/ rock from my driveway.

Well, a little update on the movie production.

Ive been dissecting all my M3/M5 clips (im still in the process of dl'ing some new footage of the web too, thx to some generous souls who let me use their films/servers)...while also dissescting and analyzing every SECOND of the song too. Its a friggin tedious task trying to synch up video footage with the climax's of a song etc, so i assume the final product will be very time consuming for me.

Anyhow, i have been messing arounf with the M5 film called "Star", with Madonna and Clive Owen, and chopped up some AWESOME sequences that mesh VERY WELL with key area's in the song.

All i need to get is some decent software to start actually editing and splicing all this together.

But let me tell you from what i have so far (based on running the song via winamp and playing the movie in windows media player) its simply badass. :rockband:

I have a ridiculously big grin on my face after each successful song/movie synchronization. :D

Cant wait to see how the final product will look like!

Everthing about that coast was pricey - although it wasn't much less expensive on the west coast, just a thousand times more DEAD. Later, after about 5-7 years, things picked up, but at first all I wanted to do was go back to WPB. :/ I missed Juno Beach, and the A1A strip, and ....DeCaeser's. Insane Gorgonzola cheese salad dressing! lol

Man, I don't know what it was about Vulcano's. I think it was those tasty little appetizer garlic rolls they served back then...I used to inhale those things by the handful like popcorn. :D

BaDm0theR - I am looking forward to seeing it. And the next time I am down in that area, which might be somewhat soon as my girlfriend's family vacations in Jupiter and looks like they might be buying a house in the area, we should catch lunch somewhere. :D

I am a broken record, I know. But I took these the last time I was down:
