Congrats to Turner team for a 2nd place podium for Hand and Gleason in the #97 E46 M3 at Koni Challenge on Sat at NJMP - also to Matt Bell for grabbing the pole in #96 - was at the race and had a chance to talk with Matt...really nice guy - Will Turner's Mom was helping out and totally hooked me up with a poster signed by Auberlen and Bell - they really know how to take care of their fans and customers - thanks Turner!

Hey guys, lots of nice words for TMS on here! Thanks for showing all the support at the tracks so far, it means a lot to have that kind of fan coverage to the team and the drivers, its ultimately about the crowd when it comes to racing!

Speaking of qualifying, here's a video showing how well the Turner GS car is set up for any conditions. For the qual session at NJMP, it started POURING just as we rolled out, leaving no time for a rain setup-- out we went on slicks in intermediate conditions! The car is SO well balanced that you don't notice any funny business, though. It is absolutely the best car I've ever driven in poor conditions, including AWD cars on appropriate tires. Enjoy!

any discount codes for forum members?

Hi,

In general - no. We occassionally do sales through our e-mail newsletter. You can sign up from the home page of our website, http://www.turnermotorsport.com. The way our pricing works is not off of a List price. We take our cost and mark it up a minimum amount and adjust it from there. So our prices are very competitive to begin with. We usually cannot go much lower than that or we risk losing money. We don't artifically inflate our prices and then offer a discount or free shipping. To make it simple, everyone gets a really good deal. And the levels of service and support that we offer provide a great value as well.

Hi,

We have never sold the AA or Rogue exhaust so I cannot tell you what their characteristics might be. The Supersprint Race mufflers are pretty aggressive and I would expect some drone with them. I don't think you will ever find a free-flowing exhaust that is completely drone-free. There could be drone or a resonance somewhere. But a lot also depends on what the rest of your exhaust will be (i.e. - keeping or deleting the resonator, running without cats, etc.). The UUC/Corsa exhaust or the full Borla exhaust are the closest I have heard without drone.

http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=044006

For shipping, I would really need your exact address and post code. But using one from another customer in England, it would be about $450 for shipping by UPS.

Hey Drew, I was wondering if you could help me out. My car is in for the subframe repair and while they're at it I figure I'd have them replace some pieces while they're down there. Do you have a list of items that should be replaced while the have the subframe dropped? I'm looking at ordering a Guibo and I've asked them if they could install your reinforcement plates. What other items should I get done while they're at it?

Thanks!

Yeah, I just went through all of this on my car too. We have a package of all of the rear mounts and bushings and you can pick and choose the ones that may not apply:

http://www.turnermotorsport.com/image/suspension/bushings_E46M3REARBUSHINGS_subframe_rtab_rsm_mount s_1_lg.jpg (http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=E46M3REARBUSHINGS)
clickable

subframe mounts
trailing arm bushings with limiters
inner camber arm bushings
inner spring arm bushings
outer camber arm ball joints
outer spring arm ball joints
rear shock mounts
shock tower reinforcements
front diff mount
rear diff mounts (sold with a cover) (http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=33112282482)

Depending on mileage and use, you may want to do all of that... The most critical parts are the subframe mounts. Worn rubber mounts are part of the cause of subframe failures. Obviously you can remove pieces from that package if they were done recently.

Check the outer CV joints on the half-shafts and the rear wheel bearings.

Check the front, sides, and rear of the differential for leaks. And check the limited slip unit. If the diff needs servicing or replacement in the near future, it will only mean more downtime for your car until they are fixed.

Maybe rebuild the driveshaft with a new guibo, center support bearing, and CV joint. And new trans mounts. This can really be done at any time but now is as good as ever.

2002/02 e46 BMW M3 convertible, 6sp, K&N 69;

Name: Shark Injector
Cost: $299
max HP gain: the most we have seen was 18whp gain but we typically quote people 10-12
max Torque gain: the most we have seen was 10 but we typically quote people 4-6
avg HP gain: 8hp
avg Torque gain: 2ft-lbs
re-flashing cost: $0 for dealer updates (in the future you will be able to do this yourself via USB and Internet connection). Price for swapping different tunes around is TBD.
Governor removal: yes
RPM limit: stock or 8100 (specified at time of order)
any O2 sensors needed?: yes, always. However, there is a version that is programmed to ignore the readings from the rear O2 sensors if you are running without cats. The O2 sensors still have to be in the car, however.
satisfaction?: very strong positive satisfaction. There are almost no returns on this product and everyone is pleased with all of the enhancements it makes
anything else to add: don't get too caught up in raw power numbers. What I like most about the Shark is how much smoother the power delivery is now. It took away all of the jerkiness and lack of refinement in the stock programming. Now it's very smooth and easy to launch. I haven't tried other forms of software for this car but I would be very pleased if I paid $299 for it.

Question - Does TMS offer a forum member discount? Thanks!

We don't have discounts specifically targeted to forums. We do monthly specials that are posted on our website (software this month). And we have an e-mail mailing list that we will use for specials, sometimes targeted at specific cars.

Otherwise, just about everything we sell is discounted from a list price and we usually sell at manufacturer's minimums.

Thanks.

Drew - can you give me some info on your underdrive pulleys? i see several are offered - not sure which i should be looking at.

will any of them help me spin the engine up a bit faster?

There is Street and Race. Race is for actual racing cars and has super larger power steering and alternator pulleys - it does not charge the battery enough to maintain a street car.

The Street kits are about 18% larger than the stock pulleys. We do the water pump, power steering pump, and alternator. We based the pulley sizing on several fully-optioned cars to ensure complete reliability. A new, longer belt is included. The kit as a whole is lighter than the factory parts but I don't think you'll notice the engine revving any quicker or be more responsive although some people have mentioned it. What I like about our pulleys is that they appear to be factory and are slightly over-built. There have been thousands of these sold and I can only remember one pulley that was returned (likely over-tightened). They are built to last and make power.

There's a bit more info here (incl install instructions):

No, sorry. Not at this time. H&R does not have them priced that way. You can buy all of them individually but they do not price them the same way. You would be better off buying one of the full sets that we have for $339.95. If we have H&R make another production run of full sets we may be able to get you just the rears. But that could be months away.

I was curious if you will have a vendor trailer or courtacy tent for the upcoming Grand-Am event in Indianapolis? I have made plans to attend & will be tring to meet up with some of the Indy area forum members there. Congrats on Mid-Ohio!:shiftdriv

Hi,

Yup we have a hospitality area at every event. It's not like some other teams but we do welcome anyone to come by and check everything out, especially BMW fans. Stop by and ask for Linda and tell her Drew sent you.

Thanks!

Jason, FYI, I just ordered some fluids for future usage as they will certainly be needed in time.
