For you road race junkies or those running so fast on the streets and need better braking, here is a sweet setup for you. Everyone talks about power power power. But on a road course or going 150mph on THE MILE, if you cant stop, you are in for a fun landing. Being fast in the turns and out of the turns is what matters. For those doing a weekend DE event, you may not need to go all out, but for those that want the best so they can win bragging rights, we have some specials for you.

Setting up your brakes depends on a lot of factors. Your setup with suspension, tires, and driving experience will play into your brake component choices as well. For the newbies, you can start out with a basic pad, fluid, and line upgrade. For the experience drivers, big brake kits is where it is at. The factory 4 pistons have their limitations, and eventually you will find them So here are some stages I have put together...

STAGE 1- The basic step
This is the fist step for most of you.... on the street or DE driver that are still using the street car as the weekend racer that want to add more stopping power and less brake fade without changing your factory components The Hawk Hp plus race pads (http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/hawk-hps-front-brake-pads-bmw-e46-m3-0206-p-7651.html) are a great pad for this great stopping power low noise level and low dust levels. the OE sensor works with this pads

Next step is to change those rubber brake lines for a set of Steel Braided smoked gel coated outer brake lines. If you every wounder why sometime when pushing your car on the street or on the track your pedal gets a little mushy it has to do with those rubber lines that flex when under pressure Steel braided lines don`t flex and keeps your pedal firm. The teflon lining and steel braided wrap are both functional and long lasting.Agency power brakes Lines (http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/agency-power-front-brake-lines-bmw-e46-m3-0105-p-7148.html) do a great job

Last step is the chancing of the brake fluid itself. Most factory brake fluid cannot take the high temperatures causing the fluid to boil causing a loss in stopping power and the brakes to fade and I sure we all been there coming off the freeway at shhhhhhhhh 110 or so after running around town all day trying to make it to dinner on time and brake are just not the same. So we suggest a Synthetic Dot 4 Brake fluid which has a much higher boiling point. In combination with your brake lines and pads, your brakes will last much longer under harsh conditions and high temperatures. we recommend Motul RBF 600 Dot 4 Fluid
