I was noticing the diff between a Dinan M3 and a Stock M3. The two were parked tail to tail so I layed down and observed both. I did see the Dinan Exhaust hardware and I was impressed w/ how "purposeful" it looked compared to the stocker. My question was I put my finger in both outlets of the Dinan Exhaust and got blk residue out of both but the passenger side had lots more buildup on the inside and outside compared to the driverside. I thought one set of the outlets was fake and for looks only. If this is true why was there residue on both sets of the outlets. Hmmmm thanks.

Purple: He's pointing out that when he swiped his fingers in BOTH the Dinan M3 exhaust AND the Stock M3 exhaust, he found black residue in BOTH sets of pipes.

With that said, what i think Erik's trying to point out is that Dinan exhaust is only supposed to have 2 working pipes.....so i guess maybe he was surprised the other set was dirty?

Maybe im wrong though, i lost my train of thought....

Let's go ride our bikes instead!

You got it Mike. I read on this forum that the Dinan E46 exhaust has only one functional set of pipes"outlets" and they added the opposite set of outlets srticly to retain the stock appearence. With that being said I was curious why both sets of outlets on said DinanExhaust had residue inside them when one set is a "falsie" there ok is that better? Damn the E46 are fine animals though. I layed ther for a good 10 minutes trying to figure out what was what. This was at a P-Car dealership no less. I am sure the salesholes were like wtf is that guy doing on the ground ?
Since I was dirty from this I went ahead and dove under a yellow Gallardo,as well sweeeet. I should stop gettin high and driving around to car lots and crawling under cars. :???:

Actually, I thought he was saying that on the DINAN exhaust, there was only residue on one of the tips instead of both, meaning that one may be a fake tip?

lol.. i was thinking in terms of E36 and was wondering where u were getting ur second set of pipes.. lol.. i bet what it is is when ur driving and the exhaust fumes get caught in the turbulence behind the car.. they are going to land but some get into those pipes because the turbulence sometimes pulls the air back..
