Ha I just read this article yesterday

Unfortunately the days are long gone when the most qualified candidates for President actually run for the office. These days the most qualified candidates wouldn't want the job because of all the political bullsh*t you have to go through to be considered. Elections have become tabloid exercises of political gymnastics, it's about who can talk their way out of trap questions and tip-toe around difficult issues without actually addressing them all the while not minding that every aspect of your personal life from the time you were born is going to be dissected by bitter partisans over the course of 18 months. Oh and of course debate performance usually centers around who looks the best and has the most eloquent delivery, not upon the substance of their position. It's painful to watch, really.
