I've had a terrible expierence dealing with Nick Alexander Imports in Los Angeles. I would highly recommend avoiding dealing with them.

Was told I would get an early to mid october production date

Placed an order in September with a fully refundable 1K deposit

Was assigned Nov 7 production date

Found a identical car already inbound to US from another dealer

Spent over a week trying to get them to refund my deposit: They did not return my phone calls, lied on several occassions saying it was already refunded and started avoiding my calls.

I have gotten the run-around at many a dealer trying to get deposits back. In general doing this over the phone is a PITA. I have saved a lot of fustration by a visiting the dealer's cashier. Show the cashier your receipt and everytime the credit was processed with no questions asked, and usually w/o even consulting the sales associate.

Thankfully, it is on a credit card. If credit hasn't been processed by Wed. I'm going to charge back, report them to Better Business Bureau and complain to BMWNA. Not to mention post my story on message boards.

I agree, Nick Alexander BMW has got to be one of the worst dealerships. I suggest you forward a link to this thread to Nick himself. I forwarded him a few of my posts reflecting my bad experience at his dealership as well. His quote, "Nick can't say no" and his employees are full of it. His email is Nick@alexanderbmw.com.

Best of luck to you.

I don't know if complaints with the BBB ever produce results.

You will probably make more headway speaking directly with BMWNA (if you want to make a complaint) and voting with your dollars by taking your business elsewhere.

If the deposit is refundable, and they refuse to give it deposit back, I suppose you can always file a small claims action against them. Keep a record of all the b.s. they've been giving you (who you talked to, what they said, when, etc.).

Ever go to Relaxtation across the street? My sister used to own it. Used to see some nice cars late in the evening, Supras, RX-7's, Porsche TT's...

BTW, Nick Alexander's sales dept. is weak.

Noticed this got bumped up recently. Long story short after another 2 weeks I got my deposit back and was able to get an identical configured m3 from another dealer for msrp. Had a big smile on my face when I got it back in november still do everytime I drive.

Shelly BMW was alot easier to deal with.
