Does anyone double clutch while driving around town or even on the track? Does it save the tranny that much?

What is double clutching? I always hear it but everyone tells me different stories.

Double clutching is when you clutch out and then clutch in separately (two pumps of the clutch). The only vehicles that have to be double-clutched are some big-rigs.

I heel and toe around town to match revs but I don't double clutch and I don't believe it provides any genuine benefit.

so you just put the clutch in, gas to match and then release?
