When you switch on the ignition a countdown is displayed till the next oil service and you can 'toggle' to brake fluid change as well. On the other side of the display (unlit) is the service interval indicator. Is it possible to display remaining miles to inspection service interval? What are the average miles between services?

I wouldn't go over 5000 miles between oil changes.

When you first start the car, the number is actually the miles left before your next scheduled maintanence is due.

Even though I rarely keep a car more then a couple of years and never keep them until they are out of warranty I have a hard time adhering to the factories extended service schedule. I too change my own oil and filter at 5K simply because it makes me feel better and gives me piece of mind.
