Rogue455 Sat, Oct-11-2003, 12:40:09 PM 17X8 front and 17X9 rear with 235's all the way around without any rubbing. If you want larger you'll have to roll the fenders.
320 is Tue, Nov-04-2003, 10:39:45 PM 8,5x16 or 9x16 using 215 -45 front and 225-40 in the back or 225-40 on both are the ones that give the best balance.
DamianE30M3 Fri, Nov-07-2003, 07:56:14 PM I live in the Uk, ive had the front and rear arches modded and use 8X18's all round with 225/40 Bridgestones, i also replaced the front wishbone bushes and rear axle bushes with solid rubber items. Best car ive ever had these are a list of cars ive owned and got rid of while ive had this
Ferrari 355GTS
Porsche 911 3.2 convertible
BMW M3 Evolution convertible (E36)
Ford Escort RS Cosworth
Ford Sierra 4X4 RS Cosworth
Some of the above are better at something but the E30 is better at all.
teamosofastm3 Fri, Nov-14-2003, 09:26:43 PM 10" on the rear and 8" on the front. That's what the widebody fenders were designed for.

is that your car? what is the offset on the wheels you have on? are wheel spacers required for your set-up?
inquiring because i have a set of 17x8 wheels with 48mm offset and i was wondering if they would fit without purchasing spacers.
-thanks.

deutschauto Wed, Apr-07-2004, 07:59:10 PM I like the E34 M5 throwing star wheels especially on a black e30 m3...give an awsome old-school look but good luck finding.

Do the solid rubber bushes help?
e30m3man Sat, Jun-19-2004, 01:29:47 PM I have 18"X8" compomotive wheels with a 23mm offset. It just depends on the offset of the wheels if they will fit your not. If you take the e36 m3 wheel it has a 41mm offset and it is only 7 1/2" wide( the front wheels). I tried to put it on my car and they rubbed the strut another wheel I tried rubbed the brake caliper. But a wheel thats and inch taller and a half inch wider but with a different offset fits. I have no rubbing and the cars lowered. I run 215/35/18 in the front and 225/40/18 in the back. I don't like the idea put you can also run spacers depending on size and offset. Compomotive made my wheels to fit my car. I told them what I have and they made them. It takes a while but its worth it.
m3flossin Sun, Sep-19-2004, 02:16:47 PM It's all about wheel offset.
Surely you could run a 9" wide wheels and stretch some 205's on.
Bart///M3 Fri, Jan-14-2005, 10:27:49 PM I have the OZ futura's rims with 8.5 J 17" with 215/40/17 and back 10J 17" with 245/35/17 tyres.

DarkstarM3 Sat, Feb-12-2005, 03:57:24 AM I have 18x8 w/ 225/35 all around...and a little rub at full lock. You could go wider in the rear, but I found it would be a hassle to find matching tires from the same manufacturer with staggered sizes all around. (not to mention with directional treads you can forget about rotating them) Also, I dont think the car was designed for staggered wheel sizes as far as handling goes. (not saying it won't still look awesome for the street)
Peter at Wheelexperts(www.wheelexperts.com) is by far the best person I have delt with regarding wheels and has all the answers when it comes to fitment.
Evolution Sat, Feb-12-2005, 06:33:18 AM Iv'e also been told you can fit 10" wheels on the rear of an E30 M3 by someone who knows alot about the E30 M3's,Also seen pics of one on line, Afterall our cars were designed for raceing.
